I misread this, they are only actually running Bontadini. So you can ski down from Kleine Matterhorn or Plateau Rosa, repeat the top slope which probably has the best snow or ski back down to Plan Maison and go up on the gondola and cable car. Judging from today's webcams there were very few takers!! Poor weather.

It was bucketing down earlier when I went on the webcams to avoid working! But didn't seem to be anything open. Maybe tomorrow.

Looked lovely milky white up there today. Snow line probably somewhere around 2300? Pancheron side is absolutely coated. Tis a pity, conditions would allow them to have 50 or 60km of pistes open at least. Very few skiers up there from what I can see though. I wonder do they turn off the gondola in between patrons.

The gondola is also used by foot passengers. By this time of year they are as important (possibly more so) than skiers.
This year they are starting the “Cervinia - The One” lift. However it will not be ready until 2030. This will be new 3S gondolas similar to those used for Klein Matterhorn (from Trockener Steg and Testa Grigia). It will come up from Breuil Cervinia to Plan Maison but will then go directly up to Testa Grigia (bypassing Cime Bianche Laghi). It will be a massive improvement. The Cime Bianche Laghi cable car to Testa Grigia will still operate for skiers doing the top of the Ventina. But the economics of keeping it open throughout May will change as none of the foot passengers will be using it.

Meant to post this, from our last trip, 100s of folk touring to the summit of Breithorn , for Liberation day celebrations on the 25th April. The line continued all the way back down the mountain! Spoke to one chap, who started in Cervinia and 7 hours later was just about to ski down!
