I will pay a visit to Vex (Les Masses) tomorrow pm and ski Saturday - is it worth dragging myself to Verbier or does it make more sense to stick to the Thyon area? Keeping in mind my companions (also first time visitors) don't fancy skiing Mt Fort nor any of the itineraries.
Edit: I was there once before, from Nendaz. I didn't particularly enjoy those yellow pistes!
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I would think the sense of travel and extra altitude and views over in Nendaz/Verbier Verbier would be well worth it on a good weather day. And Saturday is usually a relatively quiet day. It’s probably about an hour over to Siviez from where you can ski the very nice Plan de Fou red and the easy Tortin blue with La Tétine a good drink / lunch stop. From Tortin take the Gentianes cable car to get up to the Col des Gentianes and take the Mont Fort cable car up and down for the views. Then do the Jumbo red (take the path on the right to avoid the top steep part), another lunch / drinks spot at Dahu in La Chaux, then head over and down to Ruinettes and take the Funispace or Attelas chair into the lac des Vaux. Take Lac 2 up and get the Chassoure gondola down (to avoid the itinerary) back down the Tortin blue to Siviez and back across the 4V to Les Masses. I’d reckon that would be a memorable days skiing!
Spent a lot of our day skiing Chassoure-Tortin, good fun!

Great stuff!
I confess I was a bit surprised by how fast the runs were skied out (I was expecting powder stress, but damn), but after some search was able to find some powder turns by Greppon Blanc / Meina.
Tomorrow the slopes should be great too
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Glorious Saturday. We only did the Printse area, but I sure enjoyed it. Starting in Les Masses, we had a small warm up (I think Trabanta) then did Etherola back up to Cheminee for the view and make our way towards les Chiottes for... shots (AK47s)
I'll spare you the long flat bits, but we skied Greppon, down to Siviez and up for Nendaz's Plan du Fou, back down for a hearty tipi lunch.
Afternoon was just coming back via another go down Greppon, visiting Veysonnaz via Mayens, more drinks and some hardcore techno at Thyon 2000's tipi.
Finally we headed down the Les Masses with one member of the crew so tired he actually walked the last bit.
And as I had to ski in Praz de Lys on Sunday early morning, I waited for 7pm before hitting the road back home.
It's actually only the second time I ski in 4V and I'll sure will use those invites from beginning of the season next year!
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

One more thing, we had less experienced skiers with us so didn't do any itinerary, but the condition made getting down all the slopes super easy. I remember suffering on Plan du Fou, when this time I just whizzed. As I said I'll be back.
You know it makes sense.

Face shots on piste today. Terrible, don't bother going out there.
Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

that was not a stone...that was a "shark"... honestly, as long as the edges are ok, its not so bad.

All fixed now by Mountain air. We were on piste all day, so i don't see how it'd be a shark.
@swskier, ...you need to return to the friendly areas of Adelboden and district!!
Typing that has given me a great idea! Engstligenalp in the morning........could be fantastic.

Strange day today. Blower in the Attelas couloirs this morning, very wind affected and heavy up at Mont Fort but absolutely perfect down to Tortin! And then pea soup in the afternoon except for the 200m below Mont Fort peak

Visible grass is green up to 2,500m…
The pistes that remain are still remarkably good if north facing - Lac de Vaux, Chassoure Tortin (afternoon only, I imagine ). Anything more southerly or lower is a slush fest the moment the sun touches it. Below Ruinettes there are quite a few scruffy patches but also loads of fun slushy moguls.

Interesting season. Great start 1st Nov and up until about mid-Dec. Then a mix of some big dumps with epic powder days interspersed with dry periods in between.
