Been a fantastic season for Andorra. I was up at the top of the Funi at Christmas in high winds. Not an experience I'm in a rush to repeat. Never known anything like it trying to get down from there.

@Owlette, it’s ridiculous to think that school holidays for most of Europe continue for another week after this one, yet most of Andorra is closing. So much snow already down and so much snow forecast (currently falling!).

Yes, 12th.
Lovely snow today. Pretty much unpisted everywhere so pistes turned to huge bumps everywhere by mid morning. Still good fun.

That’s it for Grandvalira and Pal/Arinsal. Today was very warm. Snow was quite grabby from about 13:00.
Just Arcalis open in these parts now. Masella have apparently advertised staying open until at least 19th April.

Mad that Masella staying open that late! Maybe its the north facing side of that mountain and they're banking on weekend visitors from Barcelona taking advantage of the good season?

Sure why not, if you're facing into months of oppressive heat get your extended snow fix in. Snow should be good there for a bit yet on the north side

@8611, we might go on the 18/19th. More out of novelty factor than anything else. During the seasons we tend to not travel far to ski so I’ve never actually been there.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Awful visibility at Arcalis today. Mixture of snow and rain made it all very sticky. Despite leaving absolutely drenched, it was a decent couple of hours.

@hammerite, it's actually not that bad, some semi interesting valley terrain. Won't say it's necessarily worth a journey but I'd say it will be enjoyable.

@8611, didn't report back on this. We did go to Masella. It was pretty good. They had a decent amount open and it was interesting to see how much more would be available with good snow earlier in the season. We defo want to go back to check out both areas. We pretty much stopped at 13:00 on the day we went as it got pretty warm and very hard work!
Since that weekend, I think it's rained pretty much every day. It's also not been particularly warm either. The high mountains seem to have been getting a light dusting each night. Ready for summer now.

I liked Masella / La Molina, which I visited late season some time ago, but I did check conditions first. The off piste required more than I had to be workable - it was pretty rocky - but I was alone anyway so that didn't matter. Núria is another option if you like a different kind of funky.

Yeah I liked it, certainly an interesting option for a day trip from Barcelona, and La Molina was a good option for kids to learn in for us. Barcelona also has a lot of flights which helps.

Was talking to someone who said the conditions in Arinsal are pretty good. There was a reasonable amount of snow up high yesterday so I might get the touring skis out for one last blast!
