Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Epic Pass Adds Two Huge Alps Resorts as Price Increase Looms

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
With the price set to increase on the Epic Pass after this weekend, Vail Resorts just announced that pass holders will have access to two major Austrian megaresorts for winter 2025-’26.

The new resorts are the interconnected ski areas of Saalbach and Zell am See–Kaprun, located in the Pinzgau region, and the resorts of Hintertux/Mayrhofen, in the country’s Tyrol region. The mountains join Ski Arlberg—where full Epic Pass holders get three days—as the second and third Austrian ski areas on the Epic Pass. As partner resorts, Epic Pass holders will have five days to use at each—and at resorts this big, they’re going to need all of them.

Saw that today - also a 5 day pass for Silvretta Montafon. Epic are really starting to make a play for the Euro market.

7 days in 3V
7 in Skirama
Season pass for Andermatt & Crans- Montana
5 days in Verbier
15 in Austria

Could keep most 3+ week skiers busy for a winter for $1050 ( or about $800 if you buy the Epic Australia version).

No tiddlers there

On a similar note, just received an email today from Epic re my Epic Australia pass saying they're adding five more Austrian resorts to it:

Quote:
We’re excited to announce that starting from the 2025/26 Northern Hemisphere season, your 2025 Epic Australia Pass includes an additional 20 days of lift access across four iconic new partner resorts in Austria!

NEW: 5 days at Sölden – glacier skiing, stunning peaks & the 007 ELEMENTS experience
NEW: 5 days at Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn & Kitzsteinhorn
NEW: 5 consecutive days at Mayrhofen & Hintertux – with year-round glacier terrain
NEW: 5 consecutive days at Silvretta Montafon – known for reliable snow and big alpine views

I live in the US and mostly ski here except for 2-3 weeks in Europe each year. I went with the Epic Austrlia pass for 2025-26 as it's a good savings over the US options *and* it offers a senior discount. Cool

It's all very well, but 5 days at all these resorts isn't quite enough is it. They know you'll end up paying for an additional day - or even two - at the resort.

Also, no need to buy the Epic Australia pass; Epic Europe is on its way.

Shame though that although the skiing is cheap most of these resorts are in Switzerland which I assume to be hyper-expensive. (Happy to be corrected if anybody disagrees!)

Aha; only the unlimited resorts belong to Epic. The other resorts are 'partner' resorts - presumably relying on making their money out of the sixth and seventh day (though 3V and Dolomites are a bit more generous.)

i do not think that Andermatt is more expensive compare to some resorts in France (Val D, or Val Thorens)
Crans Montan i suppose is super expensive, however none of them is so expensive as St. Moritz or Zermatt. Verbier i suppose somewhere between...

I don’t see why.

Most “ski week” consist of only 6 ski days anyway. Is it really that big a deal to skip a day?

As to “not quite enough”, it’s never enough even for 6 days. But most people only ski 6 days anyway. So I really don’t see why is 5 days all that big an issue.

The 5 days just seems to be the standard for a reciprocal deal. Most septics never ski more than that on the bounce anyway and in reverse I don't expect VR want to be handing out too many days to Euros who might visit Vail or Whistler or Heavenly with their home season pass in hand when those Euros are probably looking at 10+ day stays.

Seppo here - you guys whinging about only five days are funny. At Eur70/day or whatever it is the resorts charge over there, I really don’t care whether the resort is on my Epic/Ikon pass or not. Eur70/day is a cute little number for a lift ticket any way you slice it.

Has Epic announced a Europe only pass? From what I can see the link provided just shows the expanded european resort list within the main (US) Epic pass.

In which case, the Aussie pass is cheaper but has the same European access (but more restricted US resort access).

plural noun: septics

a drainage system incorporating a septic tank." Smile

I suspect the 5 day limit is carefully thought out as most skiers will want at least 6 days from their 7 day holiday. They will end up buying an expensive extra day lift pass. If you are only going to ski a few days of your holiday then the ski à la carte looks a better deal.

Pretty much same as Epic Local pass here, but lots cheaper. So for us Seppos it’s a smokin deal if that’s all we were wanting anyways. (Retired=no weekend skiing. Ever).

Yep - absolutely. If you think Andermatt, Crans- Montana, Verbier, 3V, Mayrhofen-Hintertux, Montafon, Soelden, Skicircus, Skirama are enough skiing for you.

Thats a lot of skiing days, especially having variations across all Alps, also if I plan one big trip each year Canada/Japan, that will probably cover all my needs. Skiing 4-6 weeks is most Im doing. Also if skiing 20 days, thats about 20*70=1400 EUR, is the saving couple of hundreds worth resorts selection restriction, dont know tbh

@ed48, It's pretty much a no brainer for me. I have friends I visit in the US for whom Epic is the most logical choice and ski the 3V every year. I probably could have gone Epic Australia (gotta think they'll pick up on non Aussies exploiting the price arbitrage there pretty quickly).
