Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Tignes geography / layout = getting around

Poster: A snowHead
We're aiming to join friends in Tignes this season. They've booked a place on the front de niege near Tufs (the old Curling hotel)

I've found a few options for Mrs NBT and me, but wondered about the way we'd get to meet them at the lift if we stayed a little further away - is there a lift up from the buildings along the snow front like Ecrin des Neiges? Or are going to have to walk up... I've been to Tignes a few times but not stayed in VC for some years, in fact last time was AT the Curling...

Yes, there's a lift up from the lower Val Claret snow front. I usually feel the need to use the word elevator here as there are, in fact, elevators, not ski lifts. In addition, it's easy to take the first stage of the Bollin/Fresse chairlift then cruise over to the bottom of Tufs.

There are 2 Elevators up from the lower level in VC. One is in the small square to the right of The Diva (better for skiers joining the Piste). The other is up a short incline, behind the bus stop to the left of The Diva (on the same side) and takes you into the middle of VC, a stones throw from The Curling.

@stevomcd, thanks, good point I did mean elevator rather than ski lift. The Ecrin des neiges is near the roundabout, is there a map showing where the elevators are? Another option I've found is in the Schuss, which I htink is just above the Ecrin des Neiges

@Old Fartbag, replied while I was typing, thanks for that

Probably a fractionally shorter walk overall from EdN than the Schuss, but there is a risk the 'elevator' breaks (as it sometimes does) and then you either need the shuttle and Bollin or to walk up the stair case by the elevator.

If you are meeting for skiing they can ski down through the tunnel to the Bollin lift. You could take the navette from Ecrin de Neiges to the same place. For beer one team will need the ascenseurs! (See what I did there?) But the Curling to the Ecrin via Plattieres lift must be all of 2 and a half minutes.

This gives an idea (On the right of the First Map): https://www.peakretreats.co.uk/media/15981/tignes-le-lac-plus-val-claret-map-1.pdf

The "key" shows the Lift symbol. The first Elevator is to the right of 22 (The Diva). The other one is to the left of 119, behind the ski bus stop symbol.

When staying in the Diva, you go out of the boot locker and turn left and it just a few paces away.

The other one is a short walk - ie. out of the Diva front door and turn right.....go to the bus stop and I think there is a Ascenseur sign pointing up the little incline to the Lift.
