Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing in The Netherlands?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hey fellow ski enthusiasts,

I know this might sound a little unorthodox, but I’m on a mission to find the best skiing spots in the Netherlands.

My cousin has a new job and is moving out there sp I was thinking of some day trips while I'm there. I know it's a small country so expect I can travel wherever and back in a day.

Thanks folks

For indoor slopes you could try here:- https://www.montana-snowcenter.nl/en/

Or here who have 5 different indoor slopes in various parts of Holland, - https://www.snowworld.com/landgraaf/en

Landgraff is very good but is closer to Köln than Amsterdam. Actually the Netherlands is bigger than many people think. For instance it would be a 4 hour drive each way to visit Landgraaf from Groningen.

There are others as @andmelffion suggests visit the https://www.snowworld.com site for lots of other options

My son skied for the very first time in Holland aged 5. At a Center Parcs snowdome. Within an hour he was whizzing all over the thing. Madeye-Smiley

I think there is dutch XC skiing in the "De Hoge Veluwe" when snow allows?

I am told Belgium has uplift and ski resorts in the south.

Not a very good one.

Given there’re quite a few snow domes, plus XC skiing have been identified, the joke is on the OP

@Ryunis, Many people actually go from the UK to the Netherlands to ski (I've been 3 times + once to Belgium). In fact if you want to ski next to a national or regional ski team then you are more likely to do so in the Netherlands than any of the Alpine countries. It is a place to go for serious skiing.

I suspect you are actually aware that it wasn't a joke

Montana ski slope by Center Parcs is great and you can also water ski on a cable pull on the lake at the Center Parcs!

Some were even open this year for a week or two, including the famous Baraque Fraiture (Deep-Fried Shack Happy ). Opened on the 21st November 2024.
