Breckenridge is amazing this week. We’ve had 3 feet so far since Sunday, and another 10 inches overnight last night in a largely unforecasted storm.
Deep powder on all pistes and the bowls and tree skiing is epic.
Just wish my lungs and knees were as reliable…

It's cold enough in the interior, about minus 5 peak in silver star yesterday. Kamloops is plus 2 now, but sun peaks is likely negative. New snow always welcome. Not wet snow here at all.

Nice amount in Sun Peaks this morning but quite damp by lunchtime. Great morning lapping Morrisey then spent the afternoon watching BC kids on their freestyle comp.

I am calling out Snowbird for Grade A b/s. Mineral Basin Chair has been out of action for a number of days thereby closing all of Mineral Basin and the Alta link. The problem is said to be a broken gear hub. At first work was said to be delayed by the need to get parts from abroad (feasible), then some adverse weather (yep, there was snow for 24 hours or so). But the lift remains out of action with the excuse of adverse weather conditions despite 5 days of clear skies, low winds and bearable temperatures. Fixing kit in benign winter conditions should be within the skill set of any competent ski lift company, so what are they waiting for? Having spoken with a Snowbird employee (not on lifts) I get the sense that management are lazily winging it across operations. As a visitor who has traveled no small distance to get here I feel taken advantage of by a business which is treating stakeholders with contempt. Up your game Snowbird.

21cm overnight in whistler. 10cm the day before, 40cm day before that. The machine is back on here.

Not snow related but some sad news for those Whistler regulars. The wife of one of the Hairfarmers died yesterday according to my daughter. I'm guessing they'll be out of action for a while

Perhaps you would rather they do a half ass job, and have it fall off like other resorts recently?

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Of course the job needs to be done properly; it’s the b/s in the breathless “it’ll be fixed soon” in the daily updates and the fact there was no one to be seen on site on the three days I skied Alta/Snowbird in a five day stretch of perfect conditions which I am objecting to (and the problem has persisted for many days in excess of that). Few of us are lucky enough to live locally to wait it until they get their finger out; for my part I am now back at home having been unable to enjoy one of the key features of one of the key resorts of my trip. I’ve skied long enough to acknowledge that there is a lot of luck, good and bad, associated with our chosen recreation, but this feels like an avoidable fixable issue which hasn’t been addressed with the urgency one would expect of a resort which many hold in high regard.

POWDR Corp has announced that they are not selling Mt.Bachelor after all. Here's hoping they start replacing their large inventory of aging lifts, which I'd guess is why no one stepped up.

Last day of lift served for me. Tomorrow is closing day at Bachelor with the traditional pond skim event. Still a 6 foot base.
Good way to celebrate what was a very good season.
