Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Tignes short, midweek trip, late April

Took advantage of the snow dump and having a free week by booking and going to Tignes!

It's an area that's well known and well known to us, as my eldest son worked a season in Val d'Isere the season before, 2023-2024 and then a Uni trip to Tignes earlier in April.

We went from 21-25 April, so Monday to Friday.

Booked accommodation near the Tufs lift, which was excellently placed. It was fairly basic accommodation but suited our needs. Le Borsat IV, through booking.com

Booked everything online, flights, we went with Swiss. Transfers we went with Alpine Fleet on the way out and Alpy Bus on the way back, as Alpine Fleet had no availability on the Friday.

I hired skis from skiset, which was opposite our accommodation, some Atomic Mavericks.

It was a great trip and we managed to cover a fair amount of the pistes.

My son really wanted to make the Cocorico end of season closing party, which we went to.. on the 21st!

The pizza place near our accommodation was pretty decent and we had already picked up some supplies from the Sherpa in town.

We were on the first lift of the day on the 22nd and most days, apart from the last one where the Tufs lift wasn't operating for an hour or so, but we could make it to the Bollin and Lanches lifts by skiing down and round from Tufs.

We ate up in the mountain most days and had a small meal most evenings in the apartment. There are a couple of good places to eat up in the mountains which aren't too pricey, the daily specials were great and the portions were quite sizeable. We did go to The Corner on one of the days as well, which has excellent home made sausage rolls, chips and pies!!

My son watched the pond skimming on the Wednesday... He was coming up with a lot of excuses, but to be fair it can get quite wet and cold!!! He decided not to take part and that it was over for the season. When we went past on the Thursday it was still open - not as busy or official as on the Wednesday but even still... He went up and got to the other side of the pond!! Just..!! I was never going to attempt it!!

All in all a great trip. Loads of skiing done and great conditions.

The snow conditions were better than those that the Uni trip had when he had gone 2-3 weeks earlier.

We did! Although I can't keep up with my 19 year old son!!!

The snow conditions were excellent and the slopes were quite quiet Smile

Shout out to Popeyes bar which was quite quiet, good drinks, lots of space and a table football table.
