@stanton, There have been noticeable glide cracks under the top part of the Zürserseebahn pretty much all season it wouldn't be surprising if that has resulted in a slide with the warm weather.

I feel extremely sad today. Everywhere is empty, the bars and hotels are closing. Any idea when Basecamp/murmel close is?

@badatbetting, Easter Monday is often very busy with locals getting in a last slide in for the season. Maybe not this year as it is so late and the snow not good. Ischgl still going for a couple more weeks. Has the season in St Anton been as good as the ones in France?

That makes sense. I should have bought the damn pass to go there!
St Anton is better than meribel in my opinion. It's just sooooo much more affordable (I know that annoys people here for me to say that, but it really is just objectively).
The apres here is 100x better, the on piste skiing is worse but it's just better as an all round experience. Also having the train stop in town means you can extremely easily just go on trips (I went on a stag do to Munich for example), whereas meribel was a nightmare to get anywhere.
Also I love how flat the town is. I got mocked on here about moaning about walking 40 mins uphill at the end of a night out in meribel, walking 10 mins on a flat here is a different league of easy....

Ok I drove to ischgl just to check out the place. It's actually insane here.
I think the only way I can describe it is I feel like I'm in a theme park.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Interesting. My feeling has been that St Anton isnt that expensive though the price of accommodation is expensive. Even the cost of drinks etc in the bars is OK, as long as you avoid the well known high end places. I cant really compare it to France as its too long ago since I skied there but I feel as though it is a better all round experience too. Maybe not if (to use @stanton's words) you are "a carpet skier" but for everyone else it is far better.
Not a fan of Ischgl either even if the skiing is good.

I didn't take skis as it was a last second decision to just check it out, but ischgl sort of gave off magaluf vibes to a degree. The age range of groups seems quite unusual and I really can't tell of there was 'seasonairre' groups of people at all...
I also would seriously struggle to go home at a reasonable hour of the apres goes on all night there, how does anyone do any skiing at all?!?
Despite there being lots of 5 star hotels it still felt quite tacky on the whole. I definitely want to check out the actual skiing there at some point tho!

@badatbetting, I would put it differently but the "village" does not appeal to me at all, worth checking out the skiing though.
