Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

So made it to Chalet de l'Arpette today

So did we! And we were pretty impressed by the vin chaud too - OK, it was €7, but we did think it was worth it. Also, it came in a glass rather than a paper cup Smile

Other pleasant surprise was the Forporet

We did go past the other day, but it wasn't open. And like you, we haven't been there for years. We'll give it a go when we get back snowHead

A few from the last week
Taverne du Monchu just below the Plan Bois lift, loved this place last time here, but prices have gone up and not so impressed.

Pierre Blanches at the top of errr, Pierre Blanches lift, nice self serve, friendly, prices good and I liked the short servery and liberal use of pagers so the food arrives hot.

Croq' Neige on the front in Plagne Centre. Uninspiring but cheap menu, but fabulous PdJ today for €15.90. 25cl rouge €4.90. Fast and very friendly service. It's big, but it deserves to be.

Le Barillon down in Champagny, a little pricey for a base restaurant, but a good burger and 25cl for €6 something. Great sunny aspect if the sky's clear.

Does anyone have contact details for Le Mouflon restaurant down in Plagne Bellecote? We’d like to book ahead for February half term if possible as it’s my daughter’s birthday whilst we’re there…

Stopped off at Chalet Verdons South on the Bozelet piste yesterday for a Hot Choccy in the low clouds, it now boasts an indoor snack area and the food and drink ordering window is now indoors. It has one of the best terraces with views across Champagny to Courchevel La Tania and beyond when its not cloudy!.
The toilets are on the same level rather than the usual downstairs.
There is a rather nice restaurant upstairs as well but we haven't tried that this year so far.

Le carrolay is a great stop. Lovely views of the friolan and very reasonably priced.
As you ski down from the top of Bijolin to crozats it’s just off to the side.
If you miss it get the crozats chair and you can see it on the right as you go up.

Pint peroni 7.50
Irish coffee 8.50
Burger of the day 18

Just found this helpful thread. We’re off to Belle Plagne for Xmas25 and thinking ahead to book lunch on the day - does anyone know if Inversens self serve (which we already know and love) has a full serve restaurant above it? I can’t quite make it out from the website.

Or any other tips for a nice lunch with views in the area? Or even dinner in Belle Plagne! Thank you

chaletgirl002, there is an upstairs area in the Inversens restaurant, but I've never seen it being used.
We usually go to the Roc de Blanchet beside the bottom of Rossa: it does have a lovely view across the valley to Courchevel, but Christmas could well be a dull snowy day so you may well not get to enjoy it.

@chaletgirl002, The upstairs area in the Inversens is the full serve restaurant with a different and more expensive menu than the self serve section. The menu is usually on display next to the main entrance and there is one on display next to the stairs leading up to the restaurant.
We've never eaten up there but we see lots of people going up there when we are having our excellent crepes and coffees.

Thank you skichampcouk, I stand corrected. Embarassed
I found a review from a couple of years ago that quite raves about the place: https://thatslaplagne.com/les-inversens-review/

Certainly the downstairs self-service restaurant is an excellent place to go for coffee and crepes or a full lunch - there is often a bit of queue, but the wait is well worth it.

Thank you @Jonpim and @skichampcouk, will check out the Roc de Blanche as well. Hoping for a repeat of last year’s perfect sun and snow day over in Val T! Probably jinxed it now.. Very Happy
