Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wide Ski Boots with Tech Inserts

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I need to replace my existing Atomic Waymaker boots and need to be looking wide eg 102mm plus.

Looked at Dalbello Panterra but unsure if you buy tech insert soles.

I am happy to consider any ski boot which I use for mainly skiing with the option for touring.

Wide feets here.
In a stretched (to the limit) pair of Technica Cochise.
Would probably go for the softer version if I was shopping again..
Great boots though.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@roche1800, to an extent, it’s not really the width of your feet that’s important... as you can always make things bigger. But if, eg, you also have slim ankles, you want the boot that fits your ankles, as you can’t easily make things smaller.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

As a hybrid boot take a look at the Fischer Ranger One 130 PBV Walk, it’s really wide but a bit heavy for pure touring

From Dalbello you should be looking at one of the Lupo AX (wider) models - the Panterra is worse in walk mode (can't remove the tongue) and no tech fittings.

Also look at the Ascentionist from Full Tilt.

Scott ski touring boots are all 103.5mm last. Obviously more of a dedicated touring boot but some of the stiffer options will ski well enough to use as an all round boot.

@roche1800, What size boots do you take? Boots get wider as the length increases, with most manufacturers quoting for 26.5 boots.

I’ve just gone from 28.5 Waymaker Tours to 28.5 Tecnica Zero-G Pro’s, with minimal adjustments.

I am still thinking that no matter the opinions and reviews, if they don't fit your feet, they don't fit.

have you been to a boot fitter and asked them to give you suggestions for a touring boot that will fit your feet?

@roche1800, yeah but if you have girly swot ankles a wide boot will be a nightmare.
