I am around 33-34 inch waist and 30in inseam, This particular size seems difficult to buy a new pair for. Seems I have to go for a 2-3 inch too long leg or a very tight fit.
Any suggestions for a good waterproof brand (with GoreTex or similar) who cater for the stocky market

I'm (unfortunately!) a 36w 30in leg. Spyder seem to fit great, built for Americans so they're a "generous" fit build quality seems good as well. Only tried them as I picked up a Spyder jacket last year at TK Maxx and wanted trousers to match. I think the ones i got were the "dare" pant.

I simply bought large spyder ski pants form sport pursuit and had the legs shortened. 30" inseam isn't that short..

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Much appreciated. Spent a few hours on the web and was getting very frustrated. My old pair were stuck together with duct tape towards the end and would not have kept much water out this coming season

I'm a 36" waist and 29" leg (I say I'm broad-shouldered, but my wife says I'm just short). This size is normally no problem in ordinary trousers, although in a store, there's often not as much on the rack compared to the W34"/L32" and similar sizes. But I agree that for ski trousers, it's a very hard size to find. And then add that you're usually multi-layered and the waist becomes a tight fit. Just cutting 4" off a 33" leg often doesn't work because the knees and the boot covers are then too low down. This topic crops up regularly and I really don't understand why us 'shorties' are so badly catered for by ski wear manufacturers: they seem to use completely different waist:leg combinations compared to trouser manufacturers. Rant over.
This latter (i.e. that the ski wear manufacturers have got their sizing analysis wrong) seems to be borne out for me after looking at various online stores - all the 'short leg' versions for my waist size are out of stock. Implying that there are lots more of us than they think. If we were a complete outlier, then the size simply wouldn't be available.

Still no luck. Sent emails to a few manufacturers. No uk supplier seems to have any in stock. As Laforet says the industry appear to be sizest!

A reasonable point but they are not designed to allow room for the dangly bits. Put on a ladies ski suit on once. It was "uncomfortable" to say the least.

Have you tried theshortskishop.com ? They have large sizes, normal sizes and shorter legged salopettes.

@Mark1863, Arc' will be too tight in my experience. The North Face (something backcountry focused like the Brigandine) should be perfect with size Small for the 30-inch leg length having a good size waist (as for US market) and velcro tighteners/expanders. I'm a 30-inch waist and have to have a belt and all the velcro-expanders fully tight to get anywhere close to these fitting. You'll be perfect for 34-inches... See eBay for new pairs at around £80-100, instead of the £400 new price. DM me if serious and can measure mine exactly (have two pairs, as like them so much).

Just bear in mind that these are the uninsulated pants which may or may not be your preference. The insulated ones don't seem to be available in different lengths, but they have been previously because I've got a pair and they're easily the best fitting pants I've ever had. Might just be that they haven't got stock yet? Also, check the colours. Sometimes they only offer different lengths in black and whatever that season's hero colour is.
Normally, it's worth googling outlet stores for previous years' Mammut pants in odd sizes but there may not be much about this year due to covid production cutbacks. Worth a try anyway.

I had shell-type ski pants shortened by a dedicated outdoor equipment repair shop. They did a great job.

I had some Maier previously, and they were great. I'm at the other end of the issue, as I'm 6'5, but they do seem to offer a wide range of sizes.

Thanks everyone. Despite the expense I think I am going to buy in resort. At least I can get something that fits.
New boots as well this year. I am just a poor old pensioner!!
