When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Stats for last season

Last Tuesday the Tourist Association relased some figures for the 2014/15 season.

In the St. Anton region This season 1.117 million overnight stays.

That is a decrease of 58 544 overnight stays or 4.74 percent compared to the season last year 2013/14 which was considered one of the strongest seasons.

The decline they say was due to the general unusual & early winter weather also the late Easter this year. However the results are quite satisfactory and the number of overnight stays is good for St Anton.

An increase in overnight stays was recorded by British, Belgians and Norwegians.

There were Fewer tourists from Austria, Germany and the Netherlands were recorded.

It was also stated on the the plus side that St. Anton is still an international ski destination therefore quality must remain a central issue because they (St Anton) do not want to rely on cheap mass tourism.
