We are indeed but now our son and daughter in law are in charge. They have some spaces but think the long terms are full already. Have a great season

So now we have had some good frosts, the cannons are in place and going strong overnight. There is snow up the top and we are all waiting.......

Thanks, Sue Can't wait for the season to start. Village is all white and looks just like the Summer was never here, although we had the best Summer weather we have had since moving to Niederau.

Debbie is still having problems with her shoulder from a fall in December last year, she didn't realise it was bad due to the painkillers she was taking for her cracked ribs! We just found last week that her biceps tendon has a one inch tear in it and may need surgery. Ollie is fine.

Arrived last night, woke up this morning to a lovely sunny morning. Temperature in the village is -6. Snow cannons working flat out, just need the lifts to open now!

Sun just coming out now, -6 in the valley a bit warmer on the mountain. Off to Scheffau today, not that there is anything wrongwith the SkiJuwel area but I've got a course there later in the week.

espri, I did a couple of hours on Saturday, actually managed to do a couple of turns both ways so happy with that, found it hard on the legs though. I certainly knew I had been doing something different on Saturday night.

carolyn, It seems to be going ok, I have my first Lehrauftritt tomorrow. I need to stiffen my boots tonight as it's so warm, pistes were superb today due to the cold overnight temperatures. Pity I didn't take the camera, sitting outside in the sun at lunchtime looking at the mountains I can handle.

Well contrary to the forecast, which suggested clear skies, we have had some more snow overnight! All is looking good for the start of the season on Friday in Niederau. Still partly cloudy this morning, but cold too

divekris, I've been at Scheffau for the last week on a course, the pistes there are fine and I would suspect that Niederau is actually better as most of the pistes have been prepared but have not had large volumes of traffic to wear it all away. The snow cannons have also seen plenty of use, have a look at https://www.facebook.com/pages/SNOW-CREW-Niederau/370590979742131?ref=stream to help put your mind at rest. I will post some pictures at the weekend when I will get a chance to get out at Niederau. If you are in the Almdorf you are just at the bottom of the hill from me.
As far as food goes all of the hotels will do childrens meals or maybe small portions of adult meals, there is always the Ferrari pizzeria http://www.pizzeria-ferrari.at/ but it does tend to get busy, there is another takeaway place just below you on the main road to Worgl but I can't coment on this as I haven't used it, I don't think it has opened for the season yet.
For a new year meal out you will have to make booking that high on your priority list when you arrive, last year we went to the Wastlhof http://www.hotelwastlhof.at/1/hotel-wastlhof/welcome/ and were certainly happy with the meal and service.
