Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

It handles like a slalom ski and is perfect for short snappy turns on groomed runs thanks to the Bafatex tip and tail which reduce swing weight. The Turn Zone rocker makes the ski super smooth in and out of a turn. A lot of our testers underestimated this ski and came back with big grins on their faces thanks to its impressive top end performance, Fischer always seem to make incredible value for money skis and The RC One 73 is no exception.

It?s a perfect choice for the sportier piste skier. The 74mm waist is a good mix of agility and stability to cope with most conditions you?ll find on the marked runs. The multi radius sidecut and Bafatex tip and tail make them feel quick to initiate the turn but also smooth and easy to handle through to the end. They make perfecting your carving technique fun and are more than capable if you want to pick up the speed and push them.

The RC One 82 GT feels solid and cruisy all day long whilst smoothing out the roughest conditions on the slope. Bafatex adds strength and reduces swing weight in the tip and tail to keep the handling lively and the skis manoeuvrable. The Shaped Ti laminate removes unnecessary weight and also makes sure unwanted vibrations are kept to a minimum for maximum grip.

It was a favourite for the last two years and this year it's just as good! The 86mm waist and solid construction give ample float and stability for charging around in choppy terrain or slicing carves into the corduroy. The inclusion of carbon in the tip and tail ensures maximum edge hold on piste, and the clever use of Air Tec Ti makes this amongst the lightest skis in its category without losing top end performance.

Sporty skiers wanting piste performance should be heading straight to the Progressor F17. The Progressor F18 is an incredibly lively, responsive and light piste ski that seems to turn in the blink of an eye and just loves to hold an edge and ride a clean carve. The Dual Radius System uses a tighter radius at the tip for easy turn initiation and a longer radius underfoot for better balance, this works in harmony with the tip rocker and camber. Lightness comes from the Air Tec milling out specific areas of the core and the Carbon Tex fibres that add strength with no excess weight.

Some interesting tech and shaping make this a must for anyone wanting to hone their carving skills. Razor Shape keeps the weight concentrated in the centre of the skis so they roll effortlessly edge to edge. Air Tec keeps the weight down so they are agile and easy to steer. It's a light weight piste offering that encourages progression and has a huge fun factor.

Fischer may not be first on peoples list, but boy do they know how to make good skis. The My Mtn 84 is just one example of this. The Air Tec core has lots of small channels that reduce weight so you'll never be bogged down by cumbersome skis. The shape perfectly fuses on piste handling with soft snow ability and the moderate tip profile promotes effortless turning and ease of use for good skiers that want versatility and performance.
