Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@Joff1, There isn't, you can change at Paris and get an over night train with couchettes. This helps on where to find the information https://www.seat61.com/ski-by-train.htm

@tatmanstours, with you about the fag ends, I do ask people on the mountain to pick up their dog ends and put it in the nearest ashtray. I noticed at the end of last winter that the ticket office had pouches for free that you can use but didn't get round to asking for any, I now have. I will be carrying a few spares on the mountain this winter and give one to anyone who drops their dog end on the snow :D {IMG16156_3489_left}{IMG16156_3490_left}
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@jancellor, like others I find fishing out my phone a pain and there are a lot of occasion when I don't want to take off my glove, @LaForet, has a good suggestion in that resorts may be your market, I love the Sunshine app, it trackers where you have been and you can play it back at the end of the day and watch the red dot move across the slope hours of fun , maybe sad but we quite like it as there have been occasions when we aren't sure which runs we have been on.

@Scarlet, I've come across a few which got me thinking, glad I'm not alone, once the summer arrives I might just do that and report back.
You know it makes sense.

@Scarlet, my thought was on how hot it gets up there, if its 25c outside and sunny could the attic be at 35 (that's just a guess), could that heat over a number of hours and days affect the structure

We all know that you shouldn’t store skis in a damp place, but what about heat? If you put the skis in the attic for the summer does the heat have an effect on the skis? I’m assuming that the floor of the attic is heavily insulated and the roof itself isn’t, having been in our attic when its sunny and mid twenties (c) it’s significantly warmer up there, could it affect the ski construction?

@bobcat, I'm going through a similar process I have been quoted £594 for a 9 day pass, US and Canadian lift passes have in our experience been higher than in Europe, but then the queuing for a lift is far more civilised :D PS. With Ski Independence

@kabooooooom, to add to the above comments we have gone the week before Christmas for the last two years and its been fabulous , great snow and uncrowded pistes, have only seen the Konig from the out side and it could do with some TLC. We also went late March this year and last and the weeks were different but still good snow, this year was warm at the end of the week but still good

@boabski, we eat there last night for the first time in a couple of years @tatmanstours, had assured me the ribs were as good as ever, he was wrong they are so much better, think he was trying to save them for himself, they are proper smoked ribs and to Mrs R’s delight they also do sweet potato fries. The Big John red is also pretty good. It was definitely busier than the last time we went, we also like that you can book a table beyond 7pm

@ianbradders, we have put a lot of effort in trying to eat our way through @tatmanstours, list 7 weeks so far :-D . The Zwolfeekogel is the first one after the tunnel coming from Saalbach, the bus goes through the car park, compared to other gondolas in the ski circus it’s old.

Its on @tatmanstours, recommend list of Mountain restaurants, which we are working our way through.
