Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

550 loft down. Size large. Bought on a whim a couple of years ago & has been in wardrobe ever since as it is really too large for me. £40.00 plus p&p{IMG7500_2782_right}{IMG7500_2783_right}

Little used. Can be used either as a shovel, or the handle can be locked at 90deg to the head for use like a pick. A little paint off the leading edge and a few scratches on the underside but overall in excellent condition. £35.00 plus p&p{IMG7500_2780_right}{IMG7500_2781_right}
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name.

A friend and young family about to head out to VT for the week. They're staying in a s/c appartment and the children will be having lessons. Can anyone recommend reasonably priced places for them to lunch, both in the town and on the mountain, and likewise places they could head out to in the evening should they decide to eat out. Cheers
And they're a friendly bunch.

If you've not done so already, it might be worth trying the ' solutions room ' on the ' chalets direct ' website. You enter details of what you're looking for, the chalets come back to you. I've used it successfully in the past as a solo skier.

@Oobie38, try the 'solutions room' on the chalets direct website. You post what you're looking for eg near which airport, preferred resorts, catered or not , transfers, budget etc & the chalets come back to you. Have used it successfully a number of times as a solo skier looking last minute.

+1 for saalbach/hinterglemm where they groom a number of walking trails of different grades, most of which pass by piste side restaurants at some stage. I took my non-skiing partner there a few years ago and over breakfast we'd study the booklet produced by the tourist office, she'd decide which walk and time it so that we could meet at a restaurant for lunch. She'd then walk, I'd ski .....

@FoofyNoo, have you tested your shell /puffer jacket combination? I went over with a similar combination , bought for the trip, (both by mountain hardwear) and though not a particularly sweaty person found that the puffer ( down) became surprisingly damp at times and hence not particularly insulating. I rather wish I'd taken my old ( not down) insulted jacket instead.

Bad Gastein Jan 2017 reasonable though somewhat aged intermediate enjoys piste cruising and some off-piste. Equally happy to meet for a beer as a ski, though preferably both.

A heads up for West Country boarders, skateboarders and surfers. Just noticed SharkBite is closing, with much of the stock at least 60% reduced. ( no vested interest , just a skier so full of xmas magnanimity that he's willing to point even boarders in the direction of a possible bargain !) :sH:

Sapporo feb 8th/9th, moiwa 10th/11th then niseko 12th till 19th for a course. @Minion1980, might be up for a ski whilst in moiwa , and though I suspect I might be pretty occupied during my days in niseko, I might be free for an evening bevy.

@Denni, @ster, have just received the Kilpi ' Daniel' softshell from aforehinted website but will not be trying it out before Sunday at the EOSB. Certainly the fit is good and though I've no other softshells to compare it to, the quality also looks good. If it's the same softshell you're interested in , when I ordered it the site stated the hood was removable - it isn't. I've been in touch with the site so hopefully they will have updated the description . I'm now tempted by one of their shell ski jackets, but that's another story..........
And post your own questions...
