Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I can't help thinking "if only". If only both Dave Ryding and Laurie Taylor had stayed on their feet/skis they would have had a great shot at a medal. Aaarrrggghhhhh!!! They must be so frustrated but it's a positive for the future.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name.

@welshflyer, I wondered about that. Yesterday, during the women's race, the commentator said that if a skier skied out they had to stay off the racing line to get to the bottom or risk fines and other sanctions.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

BBC commentator said at the start that he could have had bib 8. I guess this implies he had a choice and chose 14. Looking at his last split he could have been in 2nd place had he maintained the gap and finished the run. Shame for him :(

@esaw1, It's classic Snowheads though. If a thread get beyond page 1 then it will have gone OT and descended into argument, insult and willy waving

What seems crazy about the BBC coverage is that they keep switching from Red button to i-Player to the website. I wish they would have it on one or the other. I don't see why they can't utilise BBC4 since it is not broadcasting during the day.

Are the BBC covering events today? I can't see their schedule. Nothing today. Use this link to keep an eye on the schedule https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/winter-sports/55865524 but there's only 4 day to go after today :-D

@Phatairs, I think I can work out most of the skiing terms especially when watching but a lot of the boarding terms pass me by. I wonder whether some of the jargon is just invented by commentators to make them sound edgy and original.

First ski trip was 1988 to Alpe d'Huez so OH and I decided to get a head start and booked a beginners course 6 x 30mins at Bebington Oval. AdH was a great trip, mixed group all "beginners". Learning to ski, trying our appalling French, drinking far too much and winning a 5 a side tournament. Masses of snow, blizzards, whiteouts, the lot. Having booked lessons I felt I had to go every day but didn't enjoy whiteout conditions at all (still don't) and was so tired about halfway through the week (wonder why?) that I resolved to never go again. Peer pressure and a severe case of FOMO meant I went again a couple of years later. Then I was hooked :-D

@nomadengineer, With such an idiotic opening post what do you expect? You should not even be thinking about going. Why are you and why do you think you should be allowed to do this? Telling people what they should and shouldn't think about? Who the f*ck are you? More responsible than you. Prick.

Very good again, but this time : WHO GAVE CHEMMY WHITE GLOVES - so that when she waves her hands about on EVERY syllable , it’s now visually painful , rather than just distracting Good show though I kept waiting for her to clean a cue ball, or re-spot the black. I thought they were goalkeeper gloves.

I like the content so far, just wish they didn't feel the need to say "before lockdown restrictions" and "following all covid guidelines" every 10 minutes. Unfortunately there will be some idiots who will think that the pieces shown will have been done this winter :-D
