Who remembers the pleasure of the evil, very long with dog leg double poma before the new Vernant chair went in, I think in the late 90’s

Even our sH favourite service companies - The Piste Office, Solutions 4 Feet, etc - will have customers who walk in the shop, take the advice of the knowledgeable staff - and then buy it off Glisshop for a hundred quid less. And they don't even see the flaw in that. It's their right. It's the savvy, moneysavingexpert sensible way of working. Why wouldn't you? They fail to see the possibility of all the knowledgeable staff and high street store fronts closing, leaving you with nowhere to sample the gear at all.
This of course also one of the main reasons all the Ski Shows are no more. So many people will never know how great they used to be, especially for your pre-season fix.

I have been to Flaine many times, no problem with food and a pint. However, be aware that the week before Xmas is very quiet and historically only a small % of the runs will be open.

I have no vested interest in FunkyYeti. I have known Sean the owner for some 8 years and worked with him in snow sport retail for 5 years. He is a very genuine hardworking guy trying to make his own way in the industry he loves.

All worked a treat, daughter arrived at Geneva before us and waited at the drive through drop off area called ‘Kiss and drop” and just jumped in the car. It seemed quite a few people were doing the same.

My old Saab 9 5 lives again I’m pleased to say, got it back yesterday. (Expensive, much more than the car is worth but the car is worth more to me with all the items changed/renewed over the years) It saves having to worry about, will my roof bars fit and getting snow chains for a rental car. I have accumulated 3 sets over the years but I doubt if any of them would fit.
Thanks for the rental ideas.

It is many years since I have done this. Is it still possible to stop just in front of arrivals in what was I seem to remember a 10? min zone for someone to jump in the car (no luggage). If yes how do you pay any cost?
Thanks

Thanks for ideas, currently thinking of hiring a Skoda Superb estate. 5x luggage, 4 people, picking one up at Genev. 7 pairs of skis etc and self catering so you can see car gets pretty loaded.

My beloved Saab 9 5 estate is very poorly (diesel pump) and is unlikely to be fixed by 15th March for our trip to Flaine. It is always crammed with gear and a large top box. So thinking might have to hire. Can anyone recommend a good (value) company. Thinking maybe VW transporter.

Look to see if a small piece of the retaining lug(s) has broken off. It only needs one side to have cracked and the brake will release. This was a warranty issue.

A 275mm boot 23- 23.5 mondo will likely have adult toe lugs 19 +- 1 mm and heel lugs 30 +- 1mm so most bindings with a max DIN of 7 upwards will work with them

Normally low on the side of the heel there will be a mm length. That is what they need, will be approx 335mm
|

The FIS lengths and radii for next season 2018 are for men 193cm (with a tolerance of -5cm) 30m. Although 193cm may be a suitable length for your son they are not available yet this year but will come onto the market towards the summer. For this year the 188cm 30m that are available are FIS rule Women. So if you want a 30m ski to use now and next year it has to be the 188cm or you could get a 190 or 195 35m. Both of these are not ideally suited to an under 16 GS training course which could be set for a minimum 17m radius ski.

You can obtain a complete new wing assembly, the left and right are connected and come as a single unit.
You might not get the exact colour, completely undo the DIN screw and the toe wings can be removed/replaced.

There is no maximum if you have a separately drilled toe and heel (non plate or track system) you might have to grind the rear screws a little if a thin ski.

Do you mean the sliding AFD? This can be replaced quite easily you don't need to take the toe off. The AFD and the spring underneath come as a spare part. If the AFD is stuck it is likely the spring is already bent. Can you see the end of the spring to try and pull it out, once removed the AFD just slides off. I will PM you

As I understand, the problem is a boot manufacturer has designed their new boot which does not comform to the AT norm as the heel lug is undersized which potentially makes it incompatible with many touring bindings.
