Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The piste , is very similar to our roads, there are fools, clueless , inconsiderate etc. Lets imagine you are the model skier or driver , who obeys the rules , maintains a correct speed etc. I would guess most people on this forum the model skier or close to. We do need to try and anticipate the actions of the fools, clueless , inconsiderate etc. I rent cars and ski a bit, I think there is a correlation between lack of piste manners and lack of road manners in certain countries Put it like this, if a young guy in overtakes on bends, drives up someones ass etc, what kind of skier is he ?

Pinzolo is quiet and scenery is fab, the reason it is quiet , is there is a 20 minute Gondola ride there The links over to Folgarida are not busy In my experience the Gondolas and lift that ascend directly from MDC can be busy
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Another option, if driving Stay in a satellite town, hotels will be less expensive than in resort Commezzadura, most hotels here will have a private shuttle to the lift , takes two mins Ossana 10 mins drive to the lift etc from either of these you are very close to a fast Gondola, called Daolosa, this brings you to 2000m , and from there easy access to Folgarida , MdC and Marilleva. we are just back, conditions excellent. A Cappuccino about 1.5 to 2 euro A good lunch about 14, including a drink

To skip the Q, you might need to upload your driving licence, and credit card details to your GC profile Not sure if still the case, GC members used to get a one class upgrade on the booked car, subject to it being avail I think a spouse is a free second driver

There is one section of the red to Folgarida , cant rem the name. The last 200m are a bit steep, having said that its a very wide piste, so its not difficult It can be a little taxing , for those returning to Folgarida from MDC later in the day, as it gets cut up. as you will be on that piste lets say at 10am, it will not be cut up

Massive lift linked area Nearby Pinzolo quieter pistes , there is a lift which takes a long time (20 min) linking MDC and Pinz, as a result Pinzolo quieter pistes We found the mountain food good apart from the big one at the top of Grooste, best was ( a bit from MDC) refugio Solander, which is top of the Daolosa lift (see map) The sking between MDC and Daolosa is nice

interesting article, not sure how much research went into it it says " Where to stay: Of the 50 five-star hotels in France, nine of them are here (Courchevel )" "50 five star hotels in France, " ?? Surely in France, there must be hundreds of five star hotels

Some of us stayed away from the hordes and used human power to get up the hill today  https://youtu.be/sUeTKrl_g1c XxxWarningxxx gloating post for those not lucky enough to live in the Alps.. What does the above have to do with the weather? Lots to do with the weather, for those of us who do not live in the Alps ;posts like this represent a local viewpoint and is an excellent barometer of conditions. Ie snow depth, temp, cloud cover.

there are ski resorts in the hills behind Bergamo about an hour away As Foppolo is only 60km from Bergamo, tempting for a weekend break. However the Foppolo ski area used to cover three ski areas, Foppolo, Carona and San Simone. It appears San Simone does not operate any more, meaning a small combined ski area has got smaller

About 20km north of Passo, you have Pejo limited amount of pistes, but beautiful. I found the pistes very quiet, and zero Q's at lifts You can combine Pejo Skiing with MDC, Passo etc, if you pay a supplement on the standard lift pass price Its also a spa town, and has very nice baths etc https://www.termepejo.it/ All the areas above are great value for hotels , food etc, with the exception of MDC

Its a battle leaving back a hire car, lots of scams from the car hire cos . Generally I avoid Goldcar "Sicily by car" etc I have an annual car hire excess, which should protect me from scams above I also make a point of using my phone to video and photgraph the car exterior, on pickup and drop off, preferably in full view of the car hire staff Also bring and use a small torch , if pickup / dropoff at night As well as checking for scratches , damage etc, important to check the central locking , locks / opens all doors, people have been stung, for "broken" locks
