Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

...stand around pointing and saying things like “what I would do is...” :-D Surely standing watching and saying "Ooh, you don't want to do it like that!" is the correct approach. We're at risk of thread drift here but it's just an @Awdbugga, thread so.... 8)

@WD88, rather than best runs to get around you might be better asking for runs to avoid on a 'board, ie, flat ones. They're not always obvious from the start. Ours starts of looking quite nice but soon turns out flat. Others that spring to mind are, Truite from Mottaret to Meribel that's flat at the end (but not too long) and Boulevard Cumin from VT to LM where you'd be walking.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Never experienced the Dolomites (or anywhere else in Italian mountains) being dearer than the French Alps. Food and drink is a lot cheaper... and better.

@SnoodlesMcFlude, Alleghe on the day of heavy snow, on the edge of the nice easy blue... just before you 2 went down the previously closed red with @k, and i went down the black with your old man. @smygusdyngus, and @turdy, helped you find it while we waited at the lift.
which other snowHeads love to answer.

I was hoping to see some of Monetier les Bains on the ITV4 highlights but unfortunately they picked it up from near the top of the Lauteret. It appeared briefly in the main ITV coverage going past the church.

I got the Top Europe one from APRR when my old one died. For Spain and Italy it needs to be assigned to a reg number as they use ANPR but you can change/manage that via their web site and swap between cars. It uses a different mount so order extras if you want to swap between cars. Just back from our kit car trip and mines a duff doofer :-D Wasn't a happy bunny jumping in and out of the car at every toll. Others on the trip had no problems in Spain and France.

That reminds me I need to change the mount for mine. I ordered extra mounts for mine last year so I could fit it to another car for a ski road trip and they didn't arrive in time. Then the next trip I did the tag battery started to fail so I got it changed/upgraded to the new top-europe tag and annoyingly that has a different mount.... so the extras I got (eventually) are no use.

@tl266, It's what many (most?) people do. Hire shops won't bat an eye lid when you turn up to rent skis with your own boots. Getting well fitting boots is important, especially if you've got "weird feet" and that involves more than you might expect compared to when hiring. Where in the UK are you and people will be able to recommend good boot fitters.
Then you'll get to see more forums.

First time I put mine through in the ski bag I told them and they just asked me to get an easyJet rep to sign a form for them. Then they put it through the scanner several times before asking, was I sure I'd packed it... They couldn't see the carbon canister. I've not mentioned it's in the bag since and it's gone through unquestioned.

@Riccardo, fair enough, a quick search does show @nixmap, has made about a dozen posts in the last 2 years unrelated to their "volunteers". So I take it back; Crack on with the posts looking to help you avoid employment tax, social security, pension, workers rights, etc...
