Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just seen a good deal for a chalet near Lech & looking for some opinions before booking it. I have 2 concerns, 1. Is the Lech ski area ok for a nervous early intermediate skier ? I'm an ok intermediate so I have no concerns on the ski area for me, but my partner is a very cautious skier & I need to be sure that she will be ok skiing in the Lech area. 2. The chalet is in Zug, so I was wondering what are the ski / post bus links like to Lech & St Anton ? I have looked on line but the PDF's don't seem to open for the bus schedules. Cheers

Had the same problem with my Icelantics in Solden last week, they wouldn't go in the ski slots so I put them in the board slot & they almost fell out of the slot on the way down. Took them in the gondolas with me from then on, got asked lots of questions about them as no one seemed to have seen Icelantic skis before but I got no hassle from the lifties.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Possibly looking at skiing in Japan in January, going for two weeks & trying to include a couple of days in Tokyo or Kyoto. Has anyone got any experience of Japanese ski resorts & if two weeks is long enough to ski & see either Tokyo or Kyoto as well. Also is it possible to get to & from the resorts by Bullet Train from Tokyo ? Which resorts would be best for two skiers of different abilities ? Cheers

Looking for bindings for some ex-demo Icelantic Nomad skis I bought without bindings. Been advised Head Mojo bindings for £120 by my local ski shop. Was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on any other bindings that might be suitable ? Cheers

stanton Have you booked & paid for your flights through the Aussie Expedia site & had no problems ? I'm looking at potentially flying to Seattle at Easter & either skiing in Washington state or at Whistler, has anyone skied at any of the mountains in Washington state & are they worthwhile for a weeks skiing or would it be better to drive up to Whistler ?

Hi Myself & girlfriend are looking at a long weekend in mid May (weeken 18/19th) skiing at either Kitzsteinhorn,Stubai Glacier Or Hintertux. I'm a confident intermediate skier & my girlfriend is a confident blue run skier. Which glacier would offer the best skiing to suit us both at that time of year ? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Myself & my OH had a very enjoyable afternoon at the show yesterday. Spyderjon, thanks for taking the time to chat yesterday,I learned a lot about the "mysteries" of ski tuning. CEM,cheers for the drinks,my OH enjoyed her 2 cups of wine. Also took the plunge & finally subscribed to Fall Line. Managed to make a free day of it too. Thanks to admin for the tickets & leaving the show after 6pm meant there was no-one taking money at the carpark :D

well, i spent most of the day at MK today, poorly attended is not the word, by 3pm all the suppliers who had been kicked out on the slope Myself & my other half got there at about 2.30pm on Sunday & had pre-booked slope time from 3pm til 6pm. Had a quick chat with the guys from Line Skis (unfortunately they didn't have any demo skis) :?: Salomon & Rossignol were the only companies left at 3pm with demo skis ( Salomon left at 5pm). We were also both looking forward to a lesson with New Generation at 4.30pm as advertised ,but this failed to happen. I can understand the suppliers not wanting to hang around on the slope if there was no one around, but the event was advertised to run until 6pm on Sunday & for most of the suppliers to leave before 3pm was very disappointing. Would this happen at Olympia or the NEC if it was a bit quiet on the last day of a show?
You know it makes sense.

Thinking of going to Copper Mountain this January for 10 days, but also want to ski the other Summit County resorts & maybe Vail too. Has anyone had any experience of using the local buses to get around ? Don't really want to hire a car for 10 days. Also anyone stayed at Copper? Any good for apres ski ?

Thanks to Admin for sorting the day out,it was my 1st of hopefully many Snowhead Events. Great to meet up with some fellow Snowheads in the middle of our great English summer. Right onto the skis I tested. Nordica Hot Rod Eliminator First skis of the day, very easy to turn, good on the ice, ideal for someone that hasn't skied in 6 months & isn't that athletic. Scott Mission Took a few runs to get used to.Got on ok with them, but would have liked to have tried them on a mountain rather than at Xscape. Icelantic Pilgrim (Twice) Took these out twice,1st time I didn't really get on with them too well. 2nd time much better (might've been due to getting my "ski legs" back),again as with the Scott Missions would love to test these on a mountain in powder to see the best of them. Elan Magfire 10 A ski I'd heard about, came with a good reputation & it didn't disappoint. I immediately felt comfortable on them & enjoyed skiing them. Elan Magfire 12 Ski of the Day for me! Excellent pair of skis, felt even better than the Magfire 10's. Could easily have kept hold of them for all of the last hour.
