Basics

Les Gets is one of the many villages in the Haute Savoie which form the Portes du Soleil ski area, and is directly linked with Morzine. It is the first village of the Portes du Soleil that you reach when coming from Geneva.

Getting There

Geneva Airport is closest, and is about 1 hour transfer time.

Getting About

  • Morzine - is only a short bus ride away, or you can ski
  • Avoriaz - Ardent bubble is a convenient way to access the Avoriaz ski area if you have a car, else you need to get to Morzine and use either Super Morzine lift or take bus to Les Prodains.
  • Mont Chery - either a short walk from Chavannes lift, or use the "white path" if there is snow in the village, or use le petit train which runs between Chavannes and Mont Chery lifts.

Lifts

If driving then Perrieres chair is very useful with its own carpark at the entrance of the village. From the village centre, the Chavannes chair is most convenient, and is a short walk from most ski rental shops and hotels.

Recommended Runs

  • Melezes (red) from top of Perrieres lift to the Perrieres car park is a good warm up run, usually empty, and has a nice "world cup" style finish.

Ski/Board Schools

The following schools based in Les Gets and Morzine have been recommended by various snowHeads:

Accommodation

Eating

  • Chez Nannon (on the Nyon plateau, reservation required)
  • Croix Blanche (top of Chavannes bubble)
  • La Chanterelle (bottom of Chery Nord)
