I cant find the official Apres ski thread (was there one??? )
However this is a major hit, you will hear it all over the bars this year, (there are many many versions of it)! and years to come, all about a man who comes home drunk every night and his wife gives him trouble
skied La Plagne last year and going again on the 23rd............MUST GO BACK TO AUSTRIA.....they really know how to do Apres!!
thank god i'm going in March for a short trip with the OH to Alpbach, which is a quite in terms of Austrian apres but still better than anything in France!

It was this version that Mabel's ski coach showed her... she particularly liked the end...
It actually took me ages to work the lyrics out as his dialect is so strong but its really funny....and very true!

@HoneyBunny, You'll be pleased to know that they play a lot of this stuff in the Plan Boe bar which we tend to use as an apres call at the end of the day. It's on the last run down back to the Arabba.

@Kooky, zwickt's mi, I man I tram...
The Viennese and Niederösterreicher make a load of good stuff. Love the language and love the sense of humour.
snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

I really, really enjoy the apres ski culture in Austria! It is a lot of fun and after a long day skiing and riding, i actually look forward to it. In France, I find that they kick off way too late and the Swiss are too cool to let their hair down. In Australia, the ski towns are full of bogans and like any other country town in Australia.
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Yes, Austria apres is dominated by this sort of stuff. I love an oompah band with the rest of you, but after a few hours I get an overwhelming urge to invade Poland.
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Just back fro hinterglemm and dj at the Schwarzacher played a tune for a table of Irish people. I've never heard it before but can't find it and didn't Shazam it. The chorus was something along the lines of 'my mates love rap, but I love folk'. It was a car crash of fiddly diddly Irish pi5h but as usual at the time it was magic. Anyone have a clue to what it might be called so I can add to my ever expanding après play list

Surreal moment at Trofana Alm last week ... Your Sex is on Fire, in German meets Umpah meets Techno; maybe we arrived too late and were a few too many beers behind!

In Dutch, not German though, unless they have now done another version.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@meribel46, Cheesy? Au contraire I was so taken by a couple of the songs at Plan Boe apres on last weeks S12BB, I thought I'd search one out for my dear wife.
Only one problem, should've read the translation BEFORE saying it reminded me of her....
and while were at it, this was also epic at said venue particularly with full actions from my partner in crime @Honeybunny (videos are out there, so only a question of time before they surface....)

I might have popped in. Once or twice.

You can't beat the lassoo song, such fun. I loved how the Plan Boe just got better and better after a rather chilled start to the week. I blame the jolly Germans on the next table. Certainly not my fault.
Austrian apres is quality.

Emailed the Schwarzacher and gave me the details - Hermes House Band - should have known - enjoy

all my faves in their but the eisbaren takes top spot for me. It is all utterly dreadful in a brilliant way but really does require one to drink three or four beers first to get in the mood. Mayrhofen in four weeks can't wait. Done austria a few times and France just does not compete at apres time. Alpe D'huez last March was dead at apres time, just sat and sank a couple in the sphere bar. Find it really strange how the two countries do totally different things after a day on the slopes. Was in Sauze D'oulx in Dutch week a couple of years ago and that was mental
