Poster: A snowHead

Cheers Clive
Things are looking good, generally 3 or 4 of us go every year with the option of others to tag along if they wish, we tend to make the most of wherever we go, so as long as the place is'nt a ghost town at night I reckon we'll be alright. The mountain is always more important to us than the nightlife, but we like to eat out at night in decent restaraunts and then have a nice beer afterwards. It just makes for a good holiday for us because none of our girlfriends ski, so they don't come with us unfortunately. I'll let the boarders know about the possibilities of waliking and see if it leans us towards other resorts, but the piste map of kimberly looks good to me.
Thanks again

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Alpinebullit,
You could do BOTH Fernie and Kimberley: a week in each.
And since they're so close, you won't lose a day transferring between them.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If you want more flexible and cheaper accommodation than the Marriott and would like to book your own accommodation, flights etc., I suggest you look at www.skiandgolfcanada.com The Lodges at Kimberley Ridge are a couple of minutes walk to the main lift and skiing back to the apartment is possible depending on snow conditions. Obviously no one can predict the amount of snow we are in the hands of the gods, but January should be good. You can still use the Marriott for a drink in the evening.
I wouldn't bother with the restaurant referred to in an earlier message if the reference is to Chef Bernard in the Platzl, not worth the money we have be very dissappointed with the food there. If you want a different evening out I suggest you go to St. Eugene Mission Casino and Restaurant, have a little flutter - perhaps even win enough to buy your dinner (we did!!!).
Also use Rocky's ride and glide in the village if you need to hire equipment they are excellent, cheaper and more flexible than on the hill. www.rockysrideandglide.com

It's not clear from your post and the website, are you recommending these apartments because you've stayed there or are you promoting them because you have a business link with them?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I'll echo that. Everything smothered in a pretty disgusting sauce, and the glass of wine I ordered clearly came from a bottle that had been undergoing what tasted like tertiary fermentation for the past couple of weeks. (Butyric acid with a hint of acetone).

Just to clarify abdul1801's post above - he owns this apartment at Kimberley and so his recommendation should be viewed in this light. He PMd me regarding this and I suggest he contact admin as to how he can promote his apartment and that he should clarify his interest, in this thread. Failing that, I've done it for him!

If anyone is interested, yes I have an apartment at The Lodges at Kimberley Ridge which I am willing to rent. More details can be found on www.skiandgolfcanada.com Apologies if I previously misled anyone, however I still think Kimberley is a great place and even if I didn't own a place there I would ski there again.
