Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'm trying to oragnise a chalet holiday and Neilson's have a Chalet Altiport and according to their website it's in the "Altiport" area but I can't establish where that is!!

Thanks

10-15mins (flat) walk I'd say. It's very well placed for the Marmottes lift

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

nightshift,

On the right hand side of the village, you see the planes taking off quite often. It appears to be just a little lowr than the general resort level. And the piste that takes you down there is pretty well accessible from most runs home to the village as I recall

Here's a link to the AlpeD'Huez Map

We stayed in 'Berger' last year (and the year before) that takes around 15mins to town.

You'll see the altiport area is a good way past Berger and it's uphill on the way home. But it will clear the head for the morning.

Having said that ADH is a great resort and I'd recommend it.

Hope it helps.

Phatairs, you must have had very sore thighs or just a couple too many vin chauds! I do it most days with a pram and it takes 5 mins!!

Altiport chalets are lovely and in a great postion but if you are looking to go partying every night till late it is a trek and a bit beyond the bergers area and as Phatairs its pretty uphill too! Depends what you're looking for really. I have a friend of mine who has just recently taken over one of the Neilson chalets and created a small TO www.skialacarte.co.uk is her website and worth a look. I manage a few chalets over there if you fancy self-catering?

sarah@alpedhuez, Your friends chalet looks lovely and I've got to say, after looking around a lot the last couple of weeks, it looks like great value for money.
I wish my friends would sort their acts out so we could actually book something.

Thanks for the info.

This chalet does look very lovely - and the sauna helps! I think it used to be a Platinum Chalet for Neilson, (from looking in last years brochure) but now it seems Ski a la Carte have taken it over. For the better I suspect as they offer gourmet 5 course meals and probably much better service, as you tend to get that with smaller operators. Sounds like my sort of holiday...!!! Very Happy
