Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Helen Beaumont, I'm in my thirties (thirty-twenty-two to be precise) and I learnt to snowboard this year. I hope you won't mind a few comments.
1. One morning's tuiton is not enough. Have at least 2 lessons. I was really slow and floundered around until the third day. Then suddenly I could turn! There was a crescendo of orchestral music, the sun came out, the mountain beckoned and I boarded off into the sunset.
2. Get some protection. Have a look at Snowboarding for Beginners and ski-injury.com . I went with helmet, wrist guard and sacral protection (Dainese). I was very glad I had all three.

Yes you definetly need at least three lessons to be an expert boarder.

Good on yee... Madeye-Smiley Theres no going back once you journey towards the darkside.

Advice on protection... most valuable bit of equipment for your early learning day's, when taking lessons, are wrist guards.. the others yes if you can afford and think you'll stay the distance.. but to start of with, defo the wrist guards.

Helps with saving your wrists when trying to save your behind while falling backwards. That was the part I found most painful.

Best of luck and enjoy !!!
