Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Despite being six foot tall, my inside leg measurement is 31inches. This means most ski pants on sale in a large have legs that are at least a couple of inches too long.

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get ski pants shortened. Ta!

The issue is all that with all the gaiter and stuff at the bottom the trousers will need to be shortened by taking a section out of the calf section but still maintaining the waterproofing. I don't think I am that unusual a shape and I have never really had a problem with anything other than ski pants, they just don't seem to have any variation much in lengths.

We I had some done, we left the gaiter alone (as that holds itself on the boot) and only shortened the outer leg from the bottom: no effect on zips or waterproofness. I think it cost about £10-£15 max. Taking something out mid-leg will be a *lot* more difficult/expensive.

sorry to revive this old post but the Tundra link is now showing: https://www.scottishmountaingear.com/tundra.asp

they seem fine but out of interest are there any other recommendations to shorten my daughters goretex trousers (arcteryx sentinel)?

many thanks

Tundra went out of business and Scottish Mountain Gear bought some of their assets. I've used SMG and they provide a good service, but haven't used another company so can't compare.

The other option would be Lancashire Sports Repair, LSR have a great reputation with the outdoors community.

@jbob, keep an eye out for "Bergens of Norway" product deals (SportPursuit, etc) as they do some of their range in a short & long version of the standard (31/32/33 ?guess?), got the short version of their Stranda pants and they are perfect.

Buy a short leg? Many of the brands out there now do a normal length and short length - Ortovox and Spyder to name two from memory

@Kamikaze Pete, just to thank you/feed back that LSR were very good. Shortened my daughters goretex trousers by 7cm no problems and good job of hemming etc.
