Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Flexin' Out

Poster: A snowHead
Having spent hours working at my computer and chatting far too much to you snowheads I was yearning to ski, so yesterday I went for a ski at our nearest Snowflex dry slope. I have never skied on Snowflex before, but I have had snowboard lessons on it; now abandoned through injury until after the summer. I found it hard work not to mention embarrassing as I fell off the lift on my first attempt. It took me over 45 mins to get used to it and it is IMHO very different to snow, and I can now appreciate why everyone has been saying that snowboarding is far easier on snow.

Having said this, I did enjoy it and the exercise is good as you certainly have to work a lot harder on this surface.

On any kind of surface like this skis - or boards - will tend to rotate - skid - quite readily. Snowflex avoids the deeper bristles that are featured on Dendix, so the carve and bite of the ski isn't so pronounced. Snowflex and similar carpet-style surfaces are reckoned to cut the injury risk from sprained thumbs, though, and give a comfortable ride when well laid.

IncoqSkiSno - was there a misting system running, and was the slope fast enough?

David Goldsmith, Yes it was working but it was quite hot and sunny by the time I got there.

I make no excuses for my poor skiing, I need lessons to get me out of bad habbits.
