Poster: A snowHead

Draws, Curves, Flexies, Offsets and Friends

Those who read the après section may remember that I gave away £8,000 worth of bikes to a cycling charity (that was recommended by a snowHead in the après zone). So, in my continuing effort to clear out the storeroom, I have decided to sell off some surplus rock climbing equipment.

This is not Russian look-y-like-y but UK made, brand new, never been used, gear.
Still in wrappers from the factory, with shop tags on each item.

I have “lots” of gear.

I will be selling to odds and sods on ebay, but I thought I’d advertise the full racks here as well (as it’s such a good deal Madeye-Smiley )

If you are looking to buy your first rack or maybe you have been hoppin for a while and just want to stop the – “OMG, that wire looks a bit shot, hope I don’t drop” feeling, then here’s your chance.

Normal Cost of this lot in a shop is over a £1,000.

I’m selling each rack for £500.
I emphasise this is NOT used or 2nd hand gear – it’s brand new

Nor is it dodgy, original invoice are available if needed –
its being sold by my (summer time) company www.ukoutdoorpursuits.co.uk

If you’re interested send me a PM.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person
Sorry folks - they have all now been sold, with the last 2 racks going this afternoon.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
Wayne, Good to hear that they have gone to good homes. I have way too much shiny (or scuffed to hell) climbing gear as it is Toofy Grin

You need to Login to know who's really who.
Scarpa,
Know what you mean, for some reason lots of people last year had the same idea at christmas - get wayne a gri gri - can't ebay em as they were gifts and the fact they are a pain in the butt for anything unless you want a butty whilst your mate is up means they just sit gathering dust.
(I'm old school so still wack in an italian hitch on a crab most of the time)

Still got quite a few quick draws left (about 80 doubles) and a shed load of curves. May ebay them as (for some reason) quick draws are going on ebay for more than they would cost in a shop - very strange

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
Wayne, Myself and a mate once bought up loads of hexes from a climbing store going belly up. They flew on ebay.

You'll need to Register first of course.
Scarpa, I've only got one hex. Real battered old thing, never use it for real as not sure it would hold. Keep it like an old pair of socks - sod all use but ya never know when you'll need .............

After all it is free Go on u know u want to!
Wayne, My latest fav bit of kit are the metolius master cams.... real micro units.

I use hexes a hell of a lot, carry two size 9s on long mountain routes as they are almost always used, especially for belays at the top. I gained a new size 4 a few weeks ago when it landed from some way up right onto my helmeted head on a remote multipitch Toofy Grin

Scarpa, did lend a few big hexes for tower ridge on the ben but never used them. Couple of 4ft slings and 2 massive cams was all that were needed. Mind you - a big bonus for hexes against anything else (if you're that way inclind Laughing ) is that do jangle a lot so impress the tourists, as normally worn by big fat blokes who talk about crags all the time in the pub but can't do sh*t.

Anyway I have put a set of offsets plus a set of full set of curves (full set 1 to 9) and some quick draws on e bay. Just wait and see if anyone bids. If not I'll keep em and add it to the bag of stuff that I never use.

Oh if any snowHead's want to bid, send me a PM for your snowHead (0.05%) discount Madeye-Smiley

Ski the Net with snowHeads
Wayne, I don't like cams for winter climbing as a sudden pull can often skate the cams if the rock has a sheen of verglas inside the cracks. And even on the rock... a nice medium hex jammed in tight gives so much confidence Cool

Then again... I'm still using a couple of alloy nuts I made myself when I started climbing 20 odd years ago Embarassed
