Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone got any good ideas on how to transfer from Munich to Mayrhofen and back, without spending a fortune? Just me and my 10 year old and I've been quoted E260..... seems excessive.......

There are a couple of options on this page http://www.mayrhofen.at/holiday-region/arrival.html?L=1 for transfer/taxi comapnies, although I guess you may already have tried them.

The train is an option, takes about 3 hrs 40 mins though so a bit longer than the car journey. It's cheap though.

Or hire a car and drive it yourself. Might not work our cheaper once you have paid for petrol though as you will use upwards of EUR60 worth of fuel (depending on car obviously).

I guess the short answer is no, I don't know of a magic transfer bus that's cheap or anything, and the Mayrhofen website doesn't seem to suggest one.

Depending on arrival/departure time, I would consider the train though.

Four Seasons Travel are reliable and usually cost only a little more than the train, I think! http://www.tirol-taxi.at/airporttransfer/index.html
Though as Deliaskis, says, depending on arrival/departure times, it might be worth looking at trains. The Austrian Train website is www.oebb.at

Thanks, I've tried most of the taxi's and transfer buses - spent hours on the web! I will try the trains though - good idea, thanks:-)

Cipria, a vote for 4 seasons - used them last year for this journey (booked through WWW.CHRISTOPHORUS.AT ) and they'll drop you at the hotel, might have to wait a few minutes to fill the van though.
https://sslsites.de/4st.at/pdf/Preise_AD.pdf - looks like 136Euro for 1 adult and 1 child aged 10.

Train is really nice journey - but don't forget to factor in getting from train station to your hotel.

Hamish, Thanks, I've managed to sort something out - I'll probably use Four Seasons next time!
