Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How about James Wood? He's been consistently high in the rankings in slopestyle. I think he had a silver or bronze at the X Games and a silver at the FIS Freestyle Championships. And unlike most of the others, he could get better, as he's still competing and still a whippersnapper.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@henzerani, Is going off jumps and twirling around in the air actually "skiing" though?

@Pruman, hell yeah. You could ask the same question about downhill skiers skiing on ice, or slalom skiers twisting through impossibly tight gates.

@henzerani, no but they are actually in contact with the snow / ice and most of the time a freestyler isn't. It's why trampolinists who can barely ski can win ski aerial comps.

Yes, in my experience this is referred to as "air carving" or "air sliding". Providing the air has been groomed and shaped correctly, freestylers prefer this to snow.

It's certainly not current individual position for a Brit as we don't feature in the top 150 places.

Alex Tilley is ranked 31st in GS and 92nd in SL.
Dave Ryding is ranked 52nd in SL and will be in the top 30 on the World Cup Start List next winter.

You're right. I somehow missed Dave Ryding. His FIS ranking is 99, but Tilley really doesn't seem to get into the top 150 oval ranking from what I can see. Well done to them, but as a nation we are still pretty pants.
