Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

OK, has anybody been to an 'unusual' resort in one of the lesser known countries with skiing faccilities, such as Croatia, for example?

If so what's the cost / accomodation / snow reliability like?

Good reliable skiing in poland. both zakopanne [biggest resort one black a few red, blue and green. independent lifts] and Sclesca prolemba [check/polish border] I have enjoyed for a couple of days in each. £10 per day of ski lifts, hire very cheap, beer very cheap, very friendly and a new experience.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Snow-Queen, saikee has recently skied 3 areas near Tehran (Islamic Republic of Iran) and posted on the trips. Try the search engine for Towchal, Shemshak and Dizin. I used to live in Iran and have also skied these places. It doesn't get much more 'unusual'.
Costs - to get there horrendous, (no cheapy charters), accommodation moderate but almost none near the resorts, lift passes jokingly cheap. Rental equipment also a joke. Snow reliability - excellent. Dizin regularly has 7m depth at the top. Apres Ski - non existant. Wait for another revolution before going to Iran. Lebanon might be a better bet now and has big plans for expansion.
djd, welcome to snowHeads and your suggestion sounds a bit more like it. snowHead
