Great picture, but a shame that he didn't get their skis in the shot.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

That's great! Never seen those in the Alps. Do they sit in the woods, like bears?

Had a very close encounter myself last week in Alpe D'Huez. My French buddy who owns a local bar cooked us a fantastic meal of sanglier in his "special recipe" sauce (quite rich and thick with local sausage). A hunting friend of his had shot the animal a few days before. It was absolutely delicious, very red meat and extremely tender, much more like beef than pork. Apparently the meat is tender due to them running up and down mountains all day (being chased by some cruel beggar with a gun!). Would rather see one in the wild than on my plate.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Bears hibernate in the winter but I guess these critters do not. The friend claims they can be dangerous so petting them is not advisable.

David Goldsmith, there's one in Meribel. It doesn't move much but it is red.

That's remarkably talented. I bet it avoided carving.
