Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Galtur is small and limited but is very close to Ishgl which is a large intermediate paradise. You currently have 100-120cm of snow I would not worry about snow coverage if I were you. Check out http://www.bergfex.com/galtuer/schneebericht/ for details of the resort.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Went there as a teenager in the 1960s (old fart mode activated). Lovely place, site of the most devastating avalanche of recent decades (it's OK, the conditions were really freaky), mellow skiing.
As B00thy says, you can easily get to the big playground that is Ischgl. In fact, unless things have changed in 40 years, there's a postbus to get you there!

Stayed there for 6 weeks in 1985 right in the town square . I used Galtur & Kappl as a homebase for accessing Ischgl . Skied there a few times . Lovely ski area overlooking a high mountain reservoir . Incidently a fantastic dirve in the summer over the SilvrettaPass. The skiing is a few hundread metres further up the valley from the town.
Went back in the Easter after "The Avalanche" to see if the house I stayed in had survived , it had but the rest of the town was a disaster, in fact the whole valley (vastly under reported ) was devastated especially Mathon. They've put in all new base lifts as well.
