Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

World Champs Super G today

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
With Chemmy most likely sidelined for health reasons, the Baxter brothers some way from their best form, our main World Championship hope begins racing today in the Super G, Finlay Mickel. With bib no. 5 you'll have to switch on early if you don't want to miss his run... on Eurosport only, however. Coverage starts at 10.30am.

The favourites are mainly grouped between start nos. 20 and 30. Super G World Cup leader Hermann Maier goes at no. 30, second-placed Bode Miller at no. 27, Austrian Walchhofer, lying third in the Super G standings at 28.

The odds are on an Austrian victory - five of the top nine leading the standings are compatriots of the Herminator.

Chemmy not only raced but produced quite a good result. The winner of the Womens' GS however was a surprise to the fancied Austrians. See on our sister forum for full results and comment. snowRacers

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Didn't get to see much of the Women's Super G - went to work and set video etc to return to find it was mostly tennis and only a little ski-ing. (OK it was the final), but by the time I knew what had happened I'd missed the replay on Eurosport 2 or whtever. Bummer! Recorded it today, and going to watch it right now - not the same when you know who won though is it? Sad

Yeah...I sat down to watch it live and was a little annoyed that the tennis took priority (especially as BBC1 were showing the tennis live). I don't understand why they didn't bump off the endless repeats on Eurosport2 and actually make use of both channels.
