Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Yep, must be nearly a full centimetre of fresh but quite granular powder - maybe more - on my roof now. Bit more and I'll be deploying the Mk1 handi-ski-lift (aka a ladder) and doing the nice steep pitch below the chimney... should be able to avoid injury unless I land in the crocuses (in which case Mrs J2Dave will cause serious discomfort).
Anyone know how Salomon Screams handle through the rhododendrons? If I'm not back in an hour send out a search party (I own a transceiver so I'm gonna wear it!

, ...well the trouble started... I wasn't sure which wax would be best (for a thin layer of powder on top of a good base of, er, roof tiles) so I opted for Paraffin. That combined with the sparks from my edges as I hit the cornice (ok, the guttering) brought a whole new meaning to blazing a trail...
The good news was that I cleared the crocuses (crocii ?), but unfortunately I set fire to the hedge... Mrs J2Dave was none-too-pleased, however, so I have to pop down to the hospital now to get my ski-poles removed.
