Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The Daily Telegraph Sports Section contains a survey of attitudes and participation in sports. Its a representative sample and it reports the following.

Most popular sport is footie with 72% expressing an interest but 62% actually ever participating

However, skiing clocks in at 13% for interest, 1% for it being their most interesting sport and 14% for actual participation. A rather healthy interest to participation ratio, me thinks

These surveys tend to only ask adults and the representativness is based on the adults populations. Adults are 80% of the 60m people in the country. So 13% of themis about 6.24m people who have skied or slide.
