Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I didn't realise there was a Lecht is Scotland as well as in Austria. Is the Scottish one similarly up market.

I think there's a world of difference between the two, including an extra 't' on the Scottish one.

I fondly remember heather skiing up there. Don't forget, Cairngorm is only an hour's drive away, so you may find better conditions there (between the two resorts, you can generally get some skiing in).

Have a good one!

That's if the roads aren't blocked - which is what usually seems to happen!

The Lecht only has 200m vertical. Cairngorm has more than double that, on a good day.

The Lecht can operate when Caringorm is shut - I lost count of how many times we bused our clients there while I was working on Caringorm. Great little place, some interesting runs and a long dendix slope in summer. Should definitely be visited.

Fair point, Easiski. The Lecht didn't exist when I was teaching on Cairngorm, which shows you how old I am. It certainly comes over as an ideal beginner/intermediate area because of the easy access from the road.

I've been to the Cairngorms a few times but never the Lecht, so I figured I'd try it out. Looks like they've got some reasonable conditions for a couple of days messing about.
Besides the Army seem to have invaded Cairngorm mountain for a week. Might be gone by the weekend though. Not sure.

It looks great - I was stuck at Aberdeen airport on Friday, remembering that if I was still living up there I could have got a sneaky days skiing in before we go this weekend!

Always enjoyed our skiing there, particularly if you get the chance to go mid week after a big dump!
