Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Trying to find a jacket

Puzzled
Hi, Not sure if anyone can help. I went on my first trip boarding last year and loved it. Before I left I saw this great Boarding jacket by O'Neill but had spent all my money on the holiday so couldn't afford it. I am going again this year and unfortunately they do not sell this style anymore. But "DAMN - I WANT THE JACKET". Just ondering if anyone knows where I can find it. It is bright blue with a white barbed wire design on the front and back. I know boarding isn't all about the clothing, but this year I can afford it. Finding this will make a great start to my trip. I am located in London and will be boarding in Valloire.

If you can help - great!...... if not, hope you all have (or had) a great trip this year. wink Toofy Grin

daveboardtastic, welcome to the site.........sorry can't help.........O'Neil don't make very good snow jackets, mostly it's about fashion and the label which are paying way over the odds. The technical side to the jackets such as critically taped seams, breathability & waterproofing etc. are usually minimal. For the same money you could get a great technical jacket (that also looks good!) from someone like Bonfire, especially in the sales at the moment! snowHead

thanks for advice all. tried thier website but no luck.

Dan.. suppose you are right on the expensive label situation. I have not heard of Bonfire as I am fairly new at this game. Do you know anywhere in Central London thats good for Bonfire or other snowboard gear? I hear there are a few good places in Covent Garden, maybe I'll try at the weekend. Also do you know which are the best boots to buy? Had some hire boots last year and they leaked and my feet slid around all over the place. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated !!! snowHead

Bonfire are available at Snow and Rock.
You could also take a look at some of the US etailers if you aren't in a hurry - I just ordered a new jacket from:
Backcountry.com
If you use the link below, then they give a few cents to EpicSki:

slush & rubble are expensive - you could try jackets on there to find size then buy on line. For example i bought this bonfire jacket

I think the Snowboard Asylum is in covent garden and gets good reviews and better prices - i've never used though. I used Ocean Sports in Hove (www.boardriders.co.uk) which have some unbeliveable prices on gear! Also www.edge2edge.co.uk in Crawley.

As for ordering from the US, most of the times i think their deliverys beat orders placed in the UK. For clothes though, you really need to try the item on over here to check the size is correct before placing an orider in the US. You can save a stack of money though!

As for boots, have a look at the other boots post in the forum. Best advice is to try lots of pairs on.............and make sure you wear the boots for a while in the shops. Best of luck!!
