Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

This seasons gear at TK Max

Well, last seasons;or so they say. This has been said many times, but if you're looking budget,go to TKM.Checked out Tamworth today.Loads of gear.Plenty of jackets(shell & padded)from the likes of Dare2Be,Tenson,Helly H and good ole Trespass.Interesting range labelled 'K2'?Well featured shell jacket with quality fittings, pit zips etc.Siporax(spelling?)lining;looked good value at £45.Always considered D2B good, budget value. My wife, daughter & son have all had their gear in the past.Never had a problem with any of it.Jackets are nice, esp ladies.Well cut and well made.Average at TKM-£30 to £40.
Some nice gloves.Couple of branded(Serious)but mostly not. However, good selection of 'Thinsulate'lined, drawstring cuffs, full grip palms etc.Looked excellent value at £19.99?? Not so many fleeces at present but, once again,D2B microfeeces at £9.99 are a steal??

Picked up a nice one piece(Shredz)for my 7yr old daughter.Believe 'Shredz' is a girly range as I've only ever seen female items(mostly boarder trousers)but well made & nicely cut.£25.

Never been sure of this 'last season' thing at TKM.Believe it to be more of an industry description thing than anything?Saw some D2B jackets today labelled 'past season';price £49.99.Exact same jacket at a leading snow retailer(who has an outlet at the Dome)price £99.

Do yourself a favour, check out TKM.Stock does vary widely from store to store;but keep checking. Its amazing what you can find.

Checked out their store in Brighton over the weekend and tons of jackets and trousers. I picked up a couple of pairs of Salomon Merino (spelling??) wool socks rrp £20, TK = £10. On another forum someone posted that TK Maxx were selling iridium lens Von Zipper goggles for £30, they were selling for £100+ last year, none in brighton though.

Dan, Is that where all TKMaxx South's quota goes??? Last weekend Southampton's snow-wear gear stretched to all of one and a half rails - lucky to pick up anything other than XXS or XXXL in lurid pink/green.
Sigh. rolling eyes

Manda, There were at least 4 2 sided rails of jackets and 2 single rails of trousers. There was also a section on the wall of gloves, hats & socks............there was a lot of stuff there! And that was what i saw on the mens floor. I guess there was a whole shed load of stuff in the girly floor below. From what i saw there weren't really any top of the range "technical" stuff but all more than adequate, majority of jackets had snow skirts Shocked All sorts of different sizes as well.

No real idea if this is true but;I'm told that TKM actually note a demand, and move stock accordingly. So,if your local TK is a bit light on snow stuff(Manda)get all of your mates to keep asking for it.You never know?Happy shopping snowHead snowHead snowHead

Well, I don't go into Reading much and only pop into TkM occasionally - but we went in on saturday and I got a rather nice Trespass jacket from the Reading store marked 'Last Season' - £39.

Yes, it was Lime Green - but I wore it at MK on monday and not only did it made me ski much better but Denise could spot me too Smile

The Bournemouth TKM has a large selection of ski jackets, salopettes etc. The one to viist if you are on the South Coast is the Centrepoint one not the town centre one although they may have gear I have not been there recently. Most of it was last season (if you follow fashion that is, personally I just want to look warm without being luminous - simple really) but not all of it, in parti the dare2be and trespass stuff looked very up to date. Perfect for kitting out the kids too. Bought new sallys for £39, the rrp £99.99

Still say wait for Aldi.

For my kids last year I bought Ski Jacket/Salopettes and an all in one ski suit for £15.99 each. I was sceptical but they are fantastic quality, warm, well made and very functional. Their ski gear is made by German sports company Crane.

Also bought socks, thermals, ski tops, gloves and sunglasses etc - all at remarkable prices. They also sell adult gear so stocked up on thermals, socks and tops.

Nice TRespass, Roxy, Nike(£99-Goretex jackets) , Dare2be (but thought the quality poor in comparison)
Not so much choice in the Men's section though.
