Hello, does anyone know if there are on-line or off-line retailers that sell ski wear for tall women, preferably a bit fashionable? (I know from experience that adding the last criterium is really asking too much but thought I'd throw it in! )
Many thanks!
Mirjam (6ft2")

You've got the edge on me (I'm 5'9") and I end up with mens gear to get leg length and shoulder width. Hence I'm not fashionable on the slopes, but you wouldn't be alone in this situation I'm sure

Mirjam, The Boss is 6ft and she buys ski gear that fits and suits. Apart from some more feminine colours, what is the difference between male and female ski gear. All looks the same to me.

Mirjam, without wishing to be personal, are you tall and skinny or tall and errmmm curvy?
Just because I am 5'11.5" shorter than you but find that Helly Hansen XL sizes are fine for me, and there is plenty of spare length in the leg, so they might be worth a try. However, if you are a skinny build then they won't do as they fit my more errmmm...curvy figure. HH have a big range in terms of styles and technical etc.
Apart from that try men's gear I guess. I haven't come across specialist tall skiwear manufacturers. Some of them do different leg lengths, but the 'long' legs are only just OK for me so wouldn't be any good for you.
Another longer pair of sallys I have are Tog24, but again no good for tall skinny gals.

Hello and thanks for the replies - no I don't think men's wear is much different apart from colours but at 6ft2 men's trousers are often too short too! Deliaskis, I'm not skinny but a size 12 so XL does look a bit silly on me unfortunately. I've found an obscure looking American internet company that sells one pair of extra long women's, straight leg extra long trousers so I may have a looooong think and .... choose them!

I don't know if this means anything, but I recently tried on a bunch of jackets and was finding that the sleeves were too long on the Killtec jackets. This may be a good thing for those of you who are a bit taller than I am.
I'm at 5'6"

I'm 6 ft and bought my jacket from Rip Curl (their body and sleeve lengths are perfect!) and I wear mens trousers! Try this jacket from Rip curl (it's very funky and has the best technology around! the same fabric that spyder use)
http://www.skiwear4less.com/acatalog2/acatalog/tour_jkt.html this is the jkt I bought and now it's in the sale!!! but it's a super bargain and looks sexy too! Once you get it close to you, you'll be able to see the amazing quality! (AND this jackets fabric is so advanced it's stretchy! perfect for us tall girls!) GET IT!!!

Hi there everyone
I'm 6ft 2 and a size 14. My inside leg is 35 inches. I treat myself to a new ski outfit every year and swear by Roxy. Their ski pants are fantastic with the length, very fashionable and fit perfectly. Their jackets are superb and always have longer arm lengths. I've had two jackets from Roxy so far which have all had an inside arm of 32 inches. Depends what size you are but I go for a Roxy size 5 which is perfect for a size 14 to 16.
Hope that helps.

Hi fellow tall ladies! I feel better already! benzanna3, I had a look at the jacket and it looks fab! I'd like to compare it with the Roxy stuff freezywater swears by but I can't really find any websites with an extensive range of Roxy clothing (can you tell I'm new to this!). But I'm full of confidence now that I'll find something! Thanks again.

Hi Mirjam
Roxy havent really bought a lot out for this season compaired to last year and the year before, bit dissapointing really. The best place to look is on ebay. People are selling brand new jackets and sallopettes. I know its not the same as going into a shop and trying things on but you can still email them and ask questions about leg lengths and arm lengths etc. And hey if they dont fit you can always pop them back on ebay and sell them on.
Another good make for tall women is Bonfire. Bit cheaper than Roxy but still fab designs. The jacket I had from Bonfire had an inside arm length of 23 inches!! Try them.
Good luck!!

New to the board, but just saw this and I know it's still an issue for me. I'm 6'2", thin build and find it extremely difficult to find any ski clothing--men or women's--that will come close to fitting. BUT... just this year found a great pair of ski pants on www.athleta.com that has a 35" inseam, which is unheard of in ski clothing. Of course, they are outrageously priced, as well. Nonetheless, they do exist!!! Just thought I'd pass along the info.

Ladies, I'm also 6'2 - size 8 and enthusiastically "ditto" shell_bell's recommendation of the Athleta pants. GREAT fit (side zip) and truly long enough! The jacket thing is a different (and always challengign story). Like lots of you, I default to small/men's tall - if I can find it, which ain't easy....

Girls, I'm new on here, discovered you while desperately searching for LONG pants!! I'm 6ft and 150lbs and I have just now clicked on purchase thanks to your recommendation at www.athleta.com! The downside is that with added Taxes and shipping it has come to €259 to get them to me in Ireland, the cost of being a freak!! Thanks a million, cant wait to get them ))

@Megamum, @shell_bell, @Mirjam, @Frosty the Snowman, Hi everyone! Hey so I came across this post and it had me intrigued. I am starting an apparel company trying to improve the outdoor gear ‘experience’ for skiers, hiker and backpackers who find it hard to get good looking gear which fits. I'm a normal (if lanky!) guy who skis and climbs (including Mt Everest) and even I have trouble getting good stuff which fits right.
I’m not looking to sell anything (I have nothing to sell!), just to understand the problems a little better so I can create a really great solution. With all your outdoor experience I’d love to get your advice on what you think should or could be improved. Let me know if you might be willing to chat?
Thank you so so much indeed!
