Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Salomon Scrambler 5 - help with bindings needed

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

I have a new set of Salomon Scrambler 5, but they came without bindings.

From what I can make out the Scrambler 5 would normally come with bindings in the form of the Salomon C610 as they already have the "rails" installed for both toe & heel binding.

Can anyone give me any pointers?
Are my assumptions correct?
Anyone know where I can get them - local ski shop either didn't know or wern't interested.

Many thanks

runner, The scrambler 5 does not appear to have rails on any photo I can see of them and the c610 is not a rail binding.

There is a variant of the c610 called c610 CP which includes a plate underneath the binding, but this is not an integral part of the ski in the way that rails are.

Maybe these ski's have previously been fited with 610 CP's or some similar binding. If it's not a proper integrated rail then you could just remove it and fit any binding.

If it says "Carving Technology - salomon" then it's probably the CP (carving plate) from the c610 CP.

Those look like the rental mounting rack (Synchro Centre ?). Did you buy these skis secondhand ? To install new bindings, you'll either need to track down some compatible (Salomon rental) bindings, or remove the rack, fill the holes and have new bindings installed.

They are brand new, barcode still on the underside. Normally they come with the bindings to fit this platform... but I got them cheap off ebay

My local dryslope uses the same Salomon Scrambler skis. The plates deffinately look like rental plates to me. You could perhaps call them and see if they have any bindings going spare.

Solved.

Bought a bargain set of skis off flea bay that have the same binding mounting system.

Next question is do the skis need preparing before first use, I've looked on jon ski tuning web & he lists a service for new skis
