Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi,

Has anybody skied on Zag skis recently? I tried a pair a couple of years ago, but that was in August on the glacier at Les Deux Alpes, so the conditions were not ideal for them.

I'm sure ise will update you when he gets back from Tignes this weekend - he bought some Zags at the end of last season from Precision in Val, and he was pretty impressed during the day we were up in EK, although the conditions were far from ideal - the snow arrived the following week, and it was pretty icy.

very good skis, these are not the floppy nonsense that passes for fat skis from other manufacturers with turn radiuses around the same as ocean liner Very Happy As a result you need to ski them fairly positively, great skis for skiing powder or soft snow and having fun provided you already have some technique. If you just want something that gives flotation then those blue things would be fine I'd guess.

ise, Laughing snowHead ocean liners get pretty exhilarating at 30 knots, though they sink when they encounter ise (sic). Wink snowHead Laughing

ise,

If by "blue things" you mean Pocket Rockets, I've tried those in all the lengths. Didn't like them at all on piste, it felt like you had to submit a request in writing to change from edge to edge!

I know that they are made for off piste, but you need to ski on the piste at some point.

They did float, but that was all I liked about them.

I've decided to buy a pair of Freeride Big 84's, in a 179cm length. I'll update this topic when I've skied on them next month.

B2s for me every time. Not quite as good off-piste as the Zags, but much better on-piste.
