Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I will be looking for a cheap last minute deal in early January.
Are there any tour operators going there?
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

It's my impression that St Foy is valued for the very fact that tour operators don't go there!
I may be wrong (and I'm sure to be told so forthwith if I am).

It's very close to BSM so if u go down by train the xfer is easy. There has been a new development of accommodation there recently too but I was under the impression that it was being targeted toward private use rather than commercial.

Quite like to more about this myself.

I know someone (French) with a chalet there, and I think there's a British-run one too, can't remember the guy's name offhand. But as U says, it's more of a DIY place. Train + taxi (20 mins from Bourg station).

snowman, there's an independent company with some chalets, but can't remember who. Try a Google search, as I think that's where I saw them.

snowman, there are a few chalet owners listed on the j2ski page for Ste.Foy.

There is also Chalet Marigold (mention J2Dave if you call there!).

I would not recommend going to St Foy without a car. It's great there when there is fresh snow but the pistes are rather limited if there has not been snow for a while. On those occasions, with a car, it is a quick trip to either Tignes/ Val d'Isere, Les Arcs, or La Rosiere.

snowman, you can get a listing of all accomodation on www.saintefoy.net. However, as noted elsewhere, its not really a 'cheap deal' kinda place- there are no hotels or tour ops at all, just chalets, mainly privately run.

Having said that, last time i was there i spoke to a chalet host who said the resort is absolutely dead in Jan, so a call direct to those listed on the website would probably be quite productive.

Don't go if you are expecting wild nightlife!

I think it is a off-piste place and has about 3 chairlifts. Easy for those have a problem in counting. Will check it out myself this christmas/New year.

I found this which may or may not be useful, while doing some research for our property, which hopefully will be available next season in Serre Chevalier.
