Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

wow - love it ... particularly like the "Estimated Area" calculation. Will be interesting to use this to calc the floatation charecteristics of the long, skinny things we used to ski on compared to today's kit.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'm not sure how accurate it is though.

geoffers, yep, I had a look and my old Rossi 7S 201s appear to have more surface area than my current Nordica SL-Rs. The Nordicas are way better off piste though. Mind you, my new powder skis (190cm Rossignol 9X WC) have even more surface area so I'm looking forward to trying those little speed-puppies out next weekend.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Kramer, if it is based on Physicsman's original, then it will be pretty much spot on.

Unless you put stupid numbers in - for example I managed to get a sidecut radius of infinity with a bit of messing around

David Murdoch, isn't that perhaps indicating that a nice wide shovel on the front is as much of a factor as overall surface area ?

brian, I think you may have a point. Or a shovel

Wear The Fox Hat, it gets the radius wrong for my Missions.

Kramer, Missions are dual radius which might screw up the calculation up a bit.
