I still come back to who these snowawards people actually are? I mean, just look at the sites they've already put up for best winter website? There are some sites who should be on the list but also some real lamers and some good sites I know about they've not bothered pre-nominating.
I still get the impression, whatever the guy behind it says, that it is just some marketing scam with little real involvement from the wider UK ski community. After all, the SCofGB are one of the sponsors!

With all due respect, this is an event that we have set up for the good of the industry. I have put my own personal money and company name on the line to make it work for what is essentially, a no profit-making scheme. Why? Because like you (I presume) it is an industry we feel strongly about and decided to do something about it.
All we want to do is get the industry recognised. In the first year it is difficult to get a scheme like this off the ground, and so that is why we have asked a respected panel to nominate the initial sites. Like you, not everyone will agree but we hoped most people would accept and applaud it (and from our feedback this is very much the case). It is then up to the public to vote.
As for the SC of GB comment, fyi, they are not a sponsor, but a supporter. We have tried to get all the major ski companies and bodies to 'get behind us' as we will never succeed on a grand scale, especially in year one, without 'the big guns' seal of approval. These bodies however have no say how the program is run or who should be nominated. They just think it is a great idea. Also, we want to do one independent award for the Snowsports Industry and get everyone involved, not dilute the value by all these bodies, companies, magazines etc doing their independent programmes.

Hi guys. Very close now. It has been the Christies GB Ski Team Fund Raising Auction, so the team have been busy focusing on this over the last couple of days (yes we do this aw well!). Your nomination, will however be up over the next few days once you have successfully passed the mark.
