Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What's it like, specifically for a family with 2 kids aged 10, all experienced on piste, novices Puzzled off piste?

Grub? Hotels?

There's a discussion further down the list. Very good - small resort so easy to get around the village etc. Are you goign imdependently or with Ski Miquel?

Richmond, I'm thinking of going too and started thethread lower down some time ago! Web site www.baquiera.es is okay and gives you a piste map. Booking hotels independently might be a problem if you don't speak spanish! Best airport to fly to is Toulouse apparently.

Looks like an intermediate paradise with some easily-accessed and safe off-piste. Good snow record too and nice and sunny. See you there.

It's been suggested that Barcelona is also a good airport to fly to, if you;re going independently. If you live near Stansted though, Pau is best, direct flight and a lot closer

I went with Ski miquel and they were great, would love to go back there

I think it took us closer to three hours from Toulouse last year. You can reach the valley in just over an hour or so. The time consuming bit was going up through the Val d'Arren to Baqueira. If there has been alot of snow, chains are advisable the closer you get. We did have a huge amount of snow falling that week, and we had to have chains on the Amazon.

One of the most comical things i saw whilst there was by the top lift. People thinking that being in their new 'road' 4 x 4's would give them all the grip they needed on road snow and ice. After taking five or so minutes wheel-spinning themselves out of the car park, (and thus looking particularly pleased with themselves), applied their brakes when at a top speed about 1mph; watching as they slid slowly sideways into the large snow bank. Only to then see them go to the boot and try to put snow chains on.
