Norwegian skier Krister Trondsen has been injured in a collision with a sheep while training on a 'very steep hill'. He estimates his speed at around 60 km/h and says he "...panicked when I saw three sheep in the middle of the hill...It was crazy and idiotic to ski down this hill. It could have ended much worse."
Let this be a lesson to us all.

David Goldsmith, is that the case for the defense?
Surely your legal team could come up with a better one than: "Your honour, I crashed into the sheep"
|
|

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

They're like boarders, stuck in the middle of the road, just after the brow of the hairpin bend.

Rollerskiing at 60kph? On tarmac? What was the sheep doing there. Definite grounds for suing the farmer.
(Grass skiing in the Vosges, on the only slope with a summer draglift, has ground to a halt recently as it happens. The tenant farmer, a stroppy , releases a herd of cows into the land as soon as a skier appears.
Shame, we'd got skiing on that slope off pat.)

It was a black sheep, grazing the tarmac. Not always obvious.

Apparently it was red tarmac, not black tarmac. Word on the street is that the farmer is a bit of a cycle path, and not to be messed with

Ray stated: "Oi, ewe lot, it was a sheep, not a cow!!"
Not according to Pat the cow. I herd he didn't like grass skiers and rollerskiers and was colluding with Norwegian sheep.

What was the Norwegian skier singing as he went - was it "ewe were the last thing on my mind", or maybe "there will never be another ewe".
