Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hotel in France like a 4* in Austria? (genuine question)

 Poster: A snowHead

In the last few years I've been skiing in Austria, however I'd like to return to France (yes, the large well known places). I'm well versed in renting small studios or apartments, but the others in my group demand a hotel, somewhere comfortable, with a spa (wet and dry sauna, heated pool a bonus). In Austria we've had no trouble finding nice hotels with breakfast at around 100 euro pp per night. Can it be done in France? All the hotels that I've found and fit our bill in France are much more expensive. Any ideas?

You definitely can but like you say price is a factor. I suspect this is because a "wellness" is a de facto feature of even quite modest family owned hotels in Austria whereas you are into corporate owned territory in France.

@sugardaddy, depends when your trip is. Has a date been set, or is it flexible?

The other main factor is where. Courchevel, Meribel, Val D’Isere, Tignes usually most expensive. Other large areas not quite so, eg La Plagne, Morzine.

@sugardaddy, Hotel Bellecôte in Montchavin (La Plagne) has sauna/steam room/Jacuzzi and comes out at just over 600 pp Euro half board for the last week in January. I've not stayed there so I don't know what it's like. There's also a public pool in the village.

That's a tough ask in Tignes, for that kind of quality and amenities you are looking at the Montana village which comes in at €860 pppwb&b for the smaller rooms in Jan, the next decent 4 star is the Campanules which will be in the order of 1400 each pw, that is for half board though

As a hybrid of your requirements, and apartment in "Flaine Montsoliel Terraces de Eos" could be worth a look for you. It gives all of the pool, sauna etc facilities that you ask for but attached to varying sizes apartments through different sales channels.

We've stayed here in privately rented accommodation and feel the facilties are very impressive. Current cost you'd need to research to confirm price point.

Assuming that you do mean €100/pp/night for B&B and would expect to pay an extra €20-30/pp/night for food, then half board at the Ours Blanc in Les Menuires is in your budget for all but high season. They also do half board in their small double/twins at €80-105/pp/night all season.

You'll not get better value in the 3V's, just check trip advisor:
